The Posies reissuing ’90s LPs on vinyl, going on acoustic tour
Power pop vets The Posies are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year and have a couple special things planned. Firstly, they’re reissuing their three terrific ’90s albums for Geffen — 1990’s Dear 23, 1993’s Frosting on the Beater, and 1996’s Amazing Disgrace — on vinyl and CD via Omnivore Recordings. The vinyl is being repressed as 45 PM double discs sets (except Amazing Disgrace which was already a double LP) and the CDs have tons of bonus material, much of which has never been released before. Dear 23 will be out in May, Frosting on the Beater will be out in July and Amazing Disgrace will be out in August. The reissues are available for presale now.
The band’s Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow will be going on a 30th Anniversary acoustic duo tour beginning later this month, including a NYC stop at City Winery on January 25 (tickets). All dates are listed below, along with a few music videos from those ’90s albums, below.
