The Proper Ornaments covered Jesus & Mary Chain (listen), announce U.S. tour

UK band The Proper Ornaments, the project from James Hoare (Ultimate Painting, Veronica Falls) and Max Oscarnold (Toy), just released their second album, Foxhole, via Slumberland / Tough Love. Not entirely different form what Haore does in Ultimate Painting, it’s magic hour psych pop with understated arrangements and lovely harmonies. You can listen to the record below. Initial copies of the UK edition of the record came with a bonus 7″ featuring a cover of The Jesus & Mary Chain’s “Deep One Perfect Morning” and you can stream that below, too.

The band will be on this side of the Atlantic for a few East Coast shows in October, including Jersey City’s WFMU Monty Hall on 10/6 and Brooklyn’s Union Pool on 10/7 with the Mexican Summer-signed Shadow Band. Tickets for both of those show are on sale now.
