The Sound of Animals Fighting announce shows (1st since 2006, 1st ever on east coast)

by Andrew Sacher

TSOAF

Earlier this year RX Bandits broke their silence with a 10th anniversary tour for The Resignation, and now their weirdo, experimental post-hardcore side project with Anthony Green, The Sound of Animals Fighting is coming out of hiding too. The band has mostly been a studio project, save for four west coast shows in 2006 that became the We Must Become the Change We Want to See DVD. Now they’re visiting the road for a second time, and this time they’ll be on the East Coast too, including a show in NYC on March 22 at Best Buy Theater. Opening the East Coast dates is post-rock collective Unwed Sailor, led by Pedro the Lion associate Johnathon Ford. Tickets for the NYC show go on sale Friday (11/15) at noon. All dates are listed below.

Throughout TSOAF’s run as a band, they’ve had multiple contributing members, but the core lineup is currently current RX Bandits members Matt Embree and Chris Tsagakis, former RX Bandit Rich Balling, and Anthony Green. On the tour, the band will be revisiting songs from 2005’s progressive post-hardcore freakout Tiger and the Duke and 2006’s otherworldly and even weirder Lover, the Lord Has Left Us, plus playing songs from 2008’s The Ocean and the Sun for the first time live.

Check out a full video of their 2007 DVD, along with the list of dates, below…
