The NJ shore got hit pretty hard yesterday, so we were happy to hear that legendary NJ club the Stone Pony made it out alive: Asbury Park Press reports:

We did quite well,” said general manager said Caroline O’Toole. “We did a lot of prep work and luck was on our side. Except for some damage to our side fence, we’re OK.”

“It’s dry inside and all the history is preserved,” O’Toole said.

The club stood with sandbags at it’s entrances on Tuesday following the storm. Nearby on a Ocean Avenue, a tractor scooped up sand and debris, which was covering the street. Portions of the Asbury Park boardwalk are damaged, and many business on the boardwalk are damaged, too. The door of fortune teller Madam Marie was blown off.

A Stone Pony “Rock to the Top” show scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 28 was postponed. The Pony has a music and burlesque show scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 31. The show contingent on power being restored to the area and the safety of show goers, O’Toole said.

Not everyone and everything in Asbury Park and elsehwere in Jersey was so lucky.
