The Strokes played Vancouver, add new US tour dates

The Strokes‘ first new full-length album in seven years, The New Abnormal, is on the way (due 4/10 via Cult/RCA), and they continue to gradually announce North American tour dates. They just played Vancouver last week, their Seattle and Los Angeles shows are this week, and in May they’ll play New Orleans, Austin, and Houston. Tickets for those shows go on sale Friday (3/13) at 10 AM Central.

Tonight’s (3/9) Seattle show is with Alvvays and and Saturday’s (3/14) LA show is with Alvvays and King Princess. No openers announced for the newly-added dates yet. All dates are listed below.

So far, The Strokes have released two songs from the new album: “Bad Decisions,” which kind of sounds like Is This It-era Strokes meets “I Melt With You” meets “Dancing With Myself” meets New Order guitars, and “At The Door,” which marries a classic Julian Casablancas vocal performance to a synthy, atmospheric backdrop, and which is probably The Strokes’ best new song in years. They played “Bad Decisions” and another as-yet-unreleased song from the album, “The Adults Are Talking” (which they’d play live before), at the recent Vancouver show. Video of that song from Vancouver, videos of the two singles, and setlist from Vancouver below.
