The Tablets releasing ‘Ground’ EP (stream a track), playing free Brooklyn at BRIC Arts Media House

by Bill Pearis

Powered by what sounds like a very old drum machine, Brooklyn trio The Tablets have an appealingly wobbly sound — floating somewhere between 1966 and 1983, warmed by the vocals of Mexican-born main member Liz Godoy. The Tablets released their debut album last year, and are set to follow it up with the Ground EP which will be out soon. We’ve got the premiere of “Swallow The Rival” from it and you can stream it, along with the EP’s title track and a few tracks from their album, below.

The Tablets will be playing live in NYC next week at BRIC Arts Media House on May 20. It’s part of art exhibit “Small Solos: Vandana Jain” by Melissa Godoy Nieto who is Liz’s sister and also does visuals for the band. The show is free and more info is here.
