Longrunning Scottish band The Waterboys recently released Modern Blues, their first album of entirely original songs in eight years. Their tour supporting it just passed through NYC over the weekend, stopping at Irving Plaza on Saturday night (4/25). Mike Scott and the rest of the band played all but one of the songs from the new LP, and made time for classics such as “Whole of the Moon” and “Fisherman’s Blues” as well. They also covered Prince’s “Purple Rain” and video of that is below.
