The Who @ Jones Beach (pics, video, setlist)

The Who‘s “Moving On” tour, where they’re backed for much of the set by an orchestra, hit NYC a couple weeks back for a show at Madison Square Garden (their second MSG show of the year), and they played their final NYC-area show on this tour on Sunday at Jones Beach. As it’s been this whole tour, there were two sets with the orchestra, including songs like “Pinball Wizard,” “Who Are You,” “Eminence Front,” “Love, Reign O’er Me,” and “Baba O’Riley” with an unorchestrated, stripped-down set in the middle that included songs like “I Can See for Miles” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again (which Roger and Pete performed acoustic). They also played two songs off their forthcoming album WHO, “Ball and Chain” and “Hero Ground Zero.” There were a couple technical malfunctions — the sound cut out a couple times during the night — but otherwise a very good show with Roger’s voice sounding the strongest its been in years.

Check out pics from Jones Beach in the gallery above, and the setlist, and some fan-taken videos from the show, are below.

Pete and Roger also stopped by the opening party for the new Pace Gallery location in NYC last week to play a few songs and announce their new album.
