Thom Yorke announces new solo dates, teasing new music

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has announced new solo tour dates happening this fall in North America. He’ll be joined again on tour by longtime collaborator Nigel Godrich and visual artist Tarik Barri as Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes, and the shows are set to feature “new and unreleased material” as well as music from Thom’s solo albums and Atoms for Peace. The dates include Austin, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Seattle, Portland, and more; see them in full below. Tickets go on general sale Friday 6/21.

Speaking of “new and unreleased material,” as Pitchfork points out, ads for a mysterious “Anima Technologies” have appeared on London trains, in the Dallas Observer, and in phone booths in Milan and Tokyo. “Do you have trouble remembering your dreams,” they read. “It’s a feeling we at ANIMA know only too well. You’re deep in a surreal world where you can be anybody you like, where you can do anything. And then you wake up, and the dream fades. It’s gone, like smoke on the breeze. Or is it? Here at ANIMA we’ve built something we call a Dream Camera. Just call or text the number and we’ll get your dreams back.” People who have called the number have heard a voice message saying, “ANIMA technologies has been ordered by the authorities to cease and desist from undertaking its advertised business,” followed by part of “Not the News,” an unreleased song Thom has been playing on solo dates. There’s also a website for ANIMA:
