Those Darlins' Jessi Zazu diagnosed with cancer

Those Darlins went on indefinite hiatus earlier this year in order to focus on other projects. Two weeks later, singer, co-frontwoman Jessi Zazu was sadly diagnosed with cervical cancer.

There’s a YouCaring campaign launched where you can donate to help Jessi, and here’s the story:

At one point, she spent a week in the ICU. Now, she’s going through a second round of chemotherapy, charging head-on.
She’s battle-ready, but fighting cancer is expensive. And while she’s getting the best possible care, she has to spend most of her energy healing instead of working. As she goes forward, we want to make sure she’s able to focus on her recovery without financial stress.

If Jessi has touched your life with her music, her social justice work or her amazing heart, please consider donating. Every little bit helps! We want to get her back onstage where she belongs.

In a statement, Jessi said, “This is typically what they would call a ‘no cure scenario,’ but I refuse to believe that to be the case. I feel healthy, happy, hopeful, determined, positive, and full of sparks and nails. In a sense: there’s a tumor growing on my body, I don’t know what lays in store, but I ain’t afraid anymore. Yes, I guess I am a mystic mind after all.”

Jessi also made “Ain’t Afraid” t-shirts which you can purchase top help her out, and she made a video of her friends shaving her head that you can watch below.

We hope you recover Jessi. Fuck cancer.
