Thursday opening My Chemical Romance’s LA reunion show
My Chemical Romance will be joined by Jimmy Eat World for their 2020 reunion dates, but an opener for their December 2019 show in LA, the first date they announced, was still to be announced. Not any more: fellow NJ band Thursday, who MCR used to play local shows with back in the day, and whose frontman Geoff Rickly produced MCR’s debut album, will open the December 20 show at Shrine Auditorium. Tickets are sold out.
It’s also been confirmed that Jarrod Alexander (who was MCR’s touring drummer from 2011-2013) will be the drummer for the reunion.
Thursday also have December dates in London and Japan coming up, and Geoff is doing acoustic and DJ sets for Riot Night’s Three Year Anniversary show at Scottsdale, AZ’s Rockbar this Saturday, November 9.
