Atlas Obscura, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Sacred Bones “will celebrate the remastering of Plantasia, a pioneering 1970s electronic album composed for plants and the people who love them on Tuesday, June 18 from 5-9 p.m. In the long evening hours that precede the summer solstice, we’ll ask attendees to gather inside the lush garden oasis of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden to experience the groundbreaking album Plantasia as it was meant to be heard: surrounded by living vegetation. In this immersive listening experience, attendees are invited to meditate on the album inside the garden’s verdant pavilions or recline in our main listening area in the Steinhardt Conservatory as the composition is played in full.” Tickets are on sale.

Dean Hurley was the sound designer on Twin Peak: The Return, adding all the low hums and buzzing electricity that helped make David Lynch’s series all the more Lynchian. He’s also brought his productions and remix skills to to artists like Chromatics, Lykke Li, Dirty Beaches, and Zola Jesus. Dean will be bringing his unsettling world of sound to Brooklyn on July 12 at Public Records. Tickets are on sale and if you haven’t checked out this new Gowanus venue, this might be a good chance to do so.
