Everclear may continue to get lamer and lamer, with Art Alexakis leading an entirely different band than the one who made their ’90s albums, but 1995’s Sparkle & Fade remains one of the better albums of major-label post-grunge. They were still trying to be Nirvana and hadn’t tried on matching suits (or polished production) yet, and it lives up pretty well today. You still might not want to see the present-day version of the band, but it seems worth mentioning that they’re playing Sparkle & Fade in full on tour for its 20th anniversary, including NYC on October 26 at BB King’s. Tickets are on sale now.
