HEADS UP: Carnegie Hall is presenting a free show at National Sawdust in Williamsburg on 4/22:

Founded by mezzo-soprano Carla Dirlikov Canales, The Canales Project’s Between Two Worlds gives voice to issues of identity and culture through a powerful musical message. Canales hosts this event that features music and discussion in three fascinating segments with young activist-artists that include Llewellyn Sanchez-Werner, a pianist and composer committed to social action through music; Mariela Shaker, a Syrian violinist born in Aleppo who uses music to raise awareness for the plight of her countrymen; and Andia Winslow, a Yale alumna and athlete who encourages young people and adults to maintain healthy and active lifestyles.

More info HERE.

Speaking of Carnegie Hall, Angélique Kidjo and Friends also have a show coming up there, and Steve Reich curated some shows with Nico Muhly, a member of the National and Bang on a Can: Wednesday, April 19 at 7:30 PM w/ David Lang, Julia Wolfe, and Michael Gordon, AND Wednesday, April 26 at 7:30 PM w/ Bryce Dessner and Nico Muhly.
