tix on sale: Sheer Terror, Tuck & Patti, Blood Orange, Jeremy Enigk, Maxwell, more

NYHC vets Sheer Terror are playing a hometown Sunday matinee at Knitting Factory on June 24 with Inhuman, Done Deal and None Above All. Tickets go on sale today at noon.

Veteran jazz duo Tuck & Patti, who are St. Vincent‘s uncle and aunt and recently toured with her and played on her new album, are doing two nights at Iridium, June 27 and 28. Tickets are on sale. They’ve also been added to the lineup of Newport Folk Festival, where they play Friday. Tickets are sold out for all three days of Newport Folk.

Soul band Durand Jones & the Indications are playing Music Hall of Williamsburg on April 27 with Cassandra Jenkins (tickets), and a free lunchtime in-store at Rough Trade on Wednesday, May 16 at 12:30 PM (more info). Their self-titled album is out now on Dead Oceans.

Jazz vet, electronic music pioneer and Stevie Wonder collaborator Malcolm Cecil is teaming with Steve Moore of Zombi for an ‘Ambient Church’ show at Bushwick United Methodist Church on Saturday (4/21) (tickets).

Deradoorian is taking part in “an evening of new music and poetry to raise consciousness around the 103rd worldwide commemoration of the Armenian Genocide” at Murmrr Ballroom on Saturday (4/21). She’s promising special guests during her set (including fellow Dirty Projectors collaborator Haley Dekle, who revealed the news in an Instagram story), and the bill also includes Aram Bajakian and Alan Semerdjian. Tickets are available.

Experimental musician Charlie Looker (Zs, Extra Life, Psalm Zero) is releasing his first solo album Simple Answers on June 15 via Last Things Records. The album features a 17-piece orchestra (including members of Mivos Quartet and ICE), and Charlie is celebrating the album at Brooklyn’s National Sawdust on June 14 with that orchestra, plus guest vocalists Doug Moore (of Pyrrhon) and Zohra Atash (of Azar Swan). Tickets are on sale.
