Todd Youth memorial happening in NYC; his children launched a GoFundMe
The late NYHC legend Todd Youth (of Warzone, Murphy’s Law, D Generation, Danzig, Fireburn, and more) will be celebrated with a memorial at Alphabet City bar Niagara (112 Ave A) on Thursday (11/8). NYHC DJ Sid Da Kid will be on hand and special guests are promised. See the poster below.
Todd’s children also launched a GoFundMe called “The Youth Fund” to raise money to “cover the costs incurred with this unexpected loss” and also to “continue the financial support our father provided our younger sister, Isabella, who requires high monthly health insurance payments.” They “also hope to raise money to set aside funds for college and grad school for all 3 of his daughters.” You can read The Youth Fund’s full statement below and donate HERE.

THE YOUTH FUND
On Saturday, October 27th the world lost one of the kindest people and a remarkable musician. We appreciate and have felt all of the love and PMA we’ve received over the past few days. Our Dad, Todd Youth, was much more than his lengthy resume of bands and numerous accolades, he was a loving father and highly spiritual person.
We are all shocked and unprepared to deal with this sudden loss and are reaching out to his community of friends, fans and fellow musicians to help fulfill his wish for his ashes to be spread along the Holy River Ganga in India. This act is believed to be most auspicious when carried out by family.
Our Dad became interested in Krishna Consciousness as a teen in the mid 80’s. Since then, his faith has always been a part of his, and our lives, and is serving as a great respite through our tremendous grief. He recently became initiated as a Devotee and was given the name Tarun, meaning YOUNG in Sanskrit. His guru had been completely unaware of his stage name, YOUTH.
The Ganges River is believed to be the most Holy in the entire universe and by placing his ashes there we allow his spirit to transcend the cycle of rebirth and death and move into the spiritual realm.
Beyond raising funds to cover the costs incurred with this unexpected loss and fulfilling his spiritual wishes we are raising money so we are able to continue the financial support our father provided our younger sister, Isabella, who requires high monthly health insurance payments. We also hope to raise money to set aside funds for college and grad school for all 3 of his daughters.
While our father was able to live out his dreams and work as a professional musician from the age of 13 on, like so many other artists, his professional success did not come with the financial gains often associated with such accolades.
Any and all contributions are beyond appreciated. Our father has always believed in the power of community and has taught us to believe in the same. He would be so happy to see his community gather together to help fulfill his final wish. We were not able to save him from his pains in this material world but bringing him to India will allow us to free his spirit from any future struggle.
