Tom Jones played Beacon Theatre (pics, setlist)

Though it took a few songs for the audience to stick to their seats, people were unabashedly grooving as the imitable Sir Tom Jones began his show at the Beacon Theatre on Wednesday night (9/21), his first at the venue. Security almost had more than they could handle, trying to get fans under control (Tom Jones supports are known for their fervor…and for throwing undergarments his way) but they managed. It didn’t stop people from rising again for originals like “Delilah” or the hot and heavy “Sex Bomb.” Jones’ variety style set also showcased traditional songs, covers of those who influenced him (Elvis’s name came up ahead of “Run On”) and his timeless classics like “Green Green Grass of Home,” Bond theme “Thunderball” and, of course, “What’s New Pussycat?” Check out pics from Beacon Theatre above, and his setlist, below.
