Tom Tom Club released first new recordings in a decade; playing Brooklyn Bowl

Tom Tom Club

Tom Tom Club (aka former Talking Heads rhythm section Chris Franz and Tina Weymouth) released a new EP, Downtown Rockers, this month — their first new music in over a decade. Like all of TTC’s music over the last 30 years, the new EP is breezy, danceable and fun. You can stream it over at East Village Radio.

Speaking of, Chris Franz hosted a two-hour special on EVR celebrating the release of Downtown Rockers and you can listen to an archive of that here. Additionally, Tom Tom Club will be playing Brooklyn Bowl on November 1 and tickets go on sale Wednesday, September 12 at noon. (They played their last year too.) The band’s only other live date at the moment is a benefit for Friends of Hôpital Albert Schweitzer Haiti which happens in Pittsburgh, PA on September 21 and more information about that can be found here.
