Toronto's Tough Age made a new video, touring (NYC w/ Eternal Summers & Future Punx)

Toronto trio Tough Age released their third album, Shame, back in October of last year. It’s eight slices of slashing, hook-filled indie rock — shades of early REM at times — and you can listen to the whole album below. The band have just made a video for one of the LP’s standout cuts, “Unclean,” which was directed by Travis Boisvenue and is set in a photo studio with the band nowhere to be found. Tough Age frontman Jarrett Samson told us a little about it:

Our friend Travis made this for us after we loved his work on a video for Penny & Jesse’s old band Century Palm. I had no idea what to expect, and loved Travis’ subversion of expectations in the framing, cutting & matching of this video — I think it works with and enhances the song so perfectly that I can’t imagine any other video for “Unclean.”

The “Unclean” video premiere in this post and you can watch that below.

The band will be on tour in March, including two NYC shows: 3/26 at Berlin with Future Punx and 3/31 at Alphaville with Eternal Summers and Prism Tats (tickets). They’ll also be appearing on NYC cable access series The Special Without Brett Davis on March 28.
