New Jersey tech metallers Torrential Downpour independently released Truth Knowledge Vision last week (6/10) and the full album has made its way on to Bandcamp. We recently premiered/broke down a track from the group on Invisible Oranges and we were impressed:

Indeed, the outfit can be categorized within the same genre cloud as past tour-mates and fellow confidence-exuding, expectation-effers Cleric and Car Bomb; especially the former’s attention to texture, especially the latter’s rhythmic ingenuity.

It’s a good look, one that nudges things forwarded without losing focus that songs need to be songs, not loosely strung-together, aimless sections.

Torrential Downpour will be playing Saint Vitus on June 26 with Beast Modulus, Sunrot, and Huldra. It’s their only scheduled show at the moment and  tickets are on sale. New Orleans’ Beast Modulus play circular stoner grooves in the spirit of Breadwinner. Sunrot — who are bleeders in case you were wondering, TMZ — describe themselves as “Compulsive Post Noise Power Sludge.” And Salt Lake City’s Huldra do expansive, atmospheric post-metal. A calculator and ear protection are recommended.
