tours announced: Anthony Green, Ted Leo, The Scientists, Reigning Sound, more
The following new tours were announced. Check the Tour Dates category every day for more.
FOO FIGHTERS with DINOSAUR JR, SPEEDY ORTIZ, GANG OF YOUTHS & more
Foo Fighters have added some pretty amazing openers to their upcoming North American summer/fall tour.
Ted Leo & The Pharmacists are currently on their Hearts of Oak 15th anniversary tour that hits cities for two nights each — the first playing that album in full, and the second being a career-spanning set. (It just hit Brooklyn.) That tour is done later this month but Ted and the band have other shows after that, including a just announced Rocks Off Concert Cruise in NYC (get tickets now with the BrooklynVegan presale) and a show at Asbury Lanes, both of which are in August.
Australian punk/grunge vets The Scientists are going on their first-ever North American tour this fall, which includes two shows at Brooklyn’s Union Pool. They’ve added a few more dates, including a show in Jersey City at WFMU Monty Hall on October 12 with Bill Nace. All dates are here.
ACTIVE BIRD COMMUNITY
Brooklyn indie rockers Active Bird Community signed to Barsuk for their upcoming album Amends, and they’ll be on tour later this year.
Anthony Green (Circa Survive, The Sound of Animals Fighting, etc) surprise-released a new solo album, Would You Still Be In Love, earlier this month, and he’ll be celebrating on tour this summer. The tour doubles as a 10th anniversary celebration of his 2008 solo debut Avalon, which he’ll be performing in full, alongside songs from the new LP. All dates and tickets (including NYC’s Le Poisson Rouge on 7/1) here. You can watch a new video from the new LP:
