JOE RUSSO’S ALMOST DEAD

Grateful Dead tribute band Joe Russo’s Almost Dead announced their first dates of 2020 — they return to Capitol Theatre for three nights in February, 2/21-2/23. Much sooner than that, they play Live Oak, FL festival Suwannee Hulaween on Sunday (10/27). They have one more festival appearance scheduled, too, at Atlanta’s Sweetwater 420 Fest in April.

BLACK MARBLE

Black Marble’s new album is out tomorrow and their tour with Automatic starts soon. They’ve just added two more dates: a second night in NYC (Market Hotel on 11/23), and Pittsburgh on 11/13 (replacing a State College, PA show). The tour also includes stops in Los Angeles, Austin (Levitation Fest), Nashville, Columbus, Toronto, Philly, Baltimore, DC and more.

GUNNA

Gunna’s got a few dates coming up, including Louisville’s Boo Fest this Friday (10/25) with T.I., Jeezy, Young Dolph, and YK Osiris; Rolling Loud LA, Okeechobee; and a NYC show on Thanksgiving Eve at Knockdown Center.

ELVIS COSTELLO & THE IMPOSTERS

Elvis Costello & The Imposters just kicked off their fall tour last night in Charlottesville, VA, and they’ll be out on the road through November, stopping in Atlanta, Orlando, Memphis, Chicago, Milwaukee and more. They hit the NYC area for two shows at Port Chester’s Capitol Theater on October 29-30. See all of their upcoming dates here.

HAMILTION LEITHAUSER CAFE CARLYLE RESIDENCY

As he’s done before, former Walkmen frontman Hamilton Leithauser will be performing at a place where his dressed-up look is de rigueur: NYC’s swanky supper club Cafe Carlyle. He’ll be there from January 14-18. Remember: “Chic attire. Gentlemen are required to wear jackets.”

TROMBONE SHORTY & ORLEANS AVENUE

Prolific New Orleans musician Trombone Shorty is doing some touring with Orleans Avenue in November, starting with a hometown show and heading to Bridgeport CT, Hampton VA, and Lake Charles LA. After that, he’s off to Mexico for the the 2019 edition of the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival. He finishes out the year spending New Years Eve at Port Chester, NY’s Capitol Theatre, with North Mississippi Allstars and Devon Gilfillian as support. See all of his upcoming dates here.

LEE FIELDS

Soul greats Lee Fields & The Expressions continue to tour in support of this year’s terrific It Rains Love, and they’ve got a string of dates coming up starting with a Halloween show in Atlanta, followed by stops in Asheville, and Nashville, and then December dates in Phoenix, San Diego, San Francisco, Chico, Portland, Seattle and Vancouver. Lee’s got European dates in January, too, and will warm up for that with a NYC show right before.

DAMIEN JURADO & NICK THUNE – “SAD MUSIC, SAD COMEDY”

Musician Damien Jurado and comedian Nick Thune met at a special memorial service for their mutual friend and producer, the late Richard Swift. Both Seattle natives, they bonded further and decided they’d like to collaborate and put on a series of shows at Largo in Los Angeles back in May. Those went well, and they’ve now decided to take the show on the road.

GHOSTFACE KILLAH

Ghostface Killah has upcoming shows, including some headlining Northeast dates before playing Every Time I Die’s holiday show in Buffalo.

SQUIRREL FLOWER

Squirrel Flower announced her debut LP for Polyvinyl and she’s playing shows supporting it, including dates this month supporting Loving and a headlining tour in 2020.

TAN COLOGNE

Taos, NM duo Tan Cologne will preview their debut album (due 2/14 via Swedish label Labrador) on tour in November.
