NEW ORDER’S MIAMI RESIDENCY UPDATES

New Order will be in Miami in January for a four-show residency at the Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theatre. The first night of those shows (1/14) will be a special set, featuring the same songs from this year’s live album, ∑(No,12k,Lg,17Mif) New Order + Liam Gillick: So it goes.. That record featured many songs the band hasn’t otherwise played in years. (Unfortunately, the performance will not include the “synth orchestra” that features on the album.) Also, New Order have announced at each of the New Order shows will be opened by a DJ set from Arthur Baker, who produced and co-wrote the New Order songs “Confusion,” and “Thieves Like Us.” If you’re not going to Miami in January, you can watch new New Order documentary/concert film Decades (filmed at the same Manchester show as ∑(No,12k,Lg,17Mif)) on Showtime starting December 27.

BRIT FLOYD

Premier Pink Floyd tribute act Brit Floyd have been celebrating 40 years of The Wall on the road this year, complete with a huge light show for a full spectacle. For 2020, they’ll be on the Echoes tour, featuring music from The Wall, The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Division Bell, as well “a show stopping 23 minute ‘note-for-note’ performance of the iconic era defining song ‘Echoes’.” Dates kick off March 6 in Pittsburgh and include stops in Hershey, Louisville, Toledo, Detroit, Cincinnati, Quebec City, Montreal, and more, with the tour wrapping up in NYC with two nights at Beacon Theatre on April 30 and May 1. BAUHAUS

Goth icons Bauhaus reunited for three Los Angeles shows this fall, and they’ll continue to play shows into 2020, having just announced shows at London’s Alexandra Palace on April 8 and NYC’s Radio City Music Hall on June 26.

HOODOO GURUS

Aussie rock greats Hoodoo Gurus will be back in the U.S. for the first time in a decade in 2020. Dates kick off at Seattle’s Tractor Tavern on October 23 and wrap up at Carrboro, NC’s Cat’s Cradle on November 14, with stops along the way in Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Milwaukee, NYC, Boston, Philly, DC, and more.

CHANCE THE RAPPER (CANCELS 2020 DATES)

Chance the Rapper has cancelled his 2020 tour, which he already rescheduled from 2019 to spend more time with his family and new baby.

LIZZO CANCELS SHOWS

Lizzo is wrapping up a huge year that included the release of her album Cuz I Love You and eight Grammy nominations with a few more shows on her schedule, but she’s had to cancel two of them due to illness.

THE ACACIA STRAIN / ROTTING OUT / CREEPING DEATH / CHAMBER / FUMING MOUTH

The Acacia Strain are going on a headlining tour in 2020, and they’re taking out an amazing group of openers: Rotting Out, Creeping Death, Chamber, and Fuming Mouth.

FAILURE

Heavy/atmospheric band Failure have a box set on the way featuring remastered vinyl version of their first three albums, and they’re going to be playing all three at special residencies

CASPIAN TOUR OPENERS

Caspian have announced some great openers for their 2020 tour, which supports their upcoming album On Circles. The West Coast dates will be opened by The Velvet Teen, while most East Coast shows will be opened by Maserati, and the Philly, NYC, and DC shows have additional support from Pianos Become the Teeth, whose Kyle Durfey sings on “Nostalgist” off Caspian’s upcoming album.
