tours announced: Brutus, A$AP Ferg, Vic Ruggiero/Scott Sturgeon, more

The following new tours were announced. Check the Tour Dates category every day for more.

VIC RUGGIERO with SCOTT STURGEON and more

We mentioned earlier this year that NYC ska vets The Slackers had upcoming shows, and one of those is a Rocks Off Cruise in NYC happening this Friday (7/16). The day after that boat show, The Slackers’ Vic Ruggiero plays a solo show in Brooklyn at El Cortez (8/17), and making that show even more exciting is an opening set from Scott Sturgeon of Leftover Crack and Choking Victim. All of Vic’s dates are here.

BRUTUS

Brutus’ genre-defying punk/metal/pop/etc hybrid Nest (out now on Sargent House) is one of the year’s best albums in any rock subgenre, and it was very exciting to recently learn that the Belgian band would be coming to the US for some shows and festivals this fall. They’ve since added more dates, including shows in Chicago, Somerville, and Philly, in addition to their previously announced dates in LA and NYC. They also play Levitation, Voodoo, and Dia De Los Deftones, and they tour Europe with Cult of Luna. All dates here. To get a taste of what to expect on this tour, check out this just-released, pro-shot live video:

A$AP FERG

A$AP Ferg’s new EP will be out this week, and he just announced the headlining Yedi Tour for this fall.

GHOSTEMANE with HARMS WAY, JESUS PIECE, CANDY, 3TEETH, more

The rap/rock crossover revival continues with this stacked tour that’s headlined by Ghostemane and features support from three killer hardcore bands (Harms Way, Jesus Piece, Candy), ’90s-industrial revivalists 3TEETH, former Lil Peep collaborator Lil Tracy, and more.

PIG DESTROYER

The great Pig Destroyer have some upcoming shows, including a just-announced two-night stand in Brooklyn where they’ll play different sets each night with different openers each night.

SUN KIL MOON

Mark Kozelek has a few new albums in the pipeline and also has Sun Kil Moon dates in September, including stops in Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Nashville, and more.

DUMP HIM

Rising Northampton, MA queercore act have tons of tour dates coming up.

SANDY (ALEX G)

(Sandy) Alex G is going on tour this fall (including a stop at Brooklyn Steel on 11/14) in support of his new album House of Sugar. Before that, though, he’s playing a much more intimate show at new Bushwick venue The Sultan Room.

PORCHES

Aaron Maine is working on new Porches material and will be trying some of it out at intimate shows in NYC and L.A. in October.

VELVET NEGRONI

Velvet Negroni, the alter-ego of Minneapolis-born singer, songwriter, producer and Bon Iver collaborator Jeremy Nutzman, will release his debut album, Neon Brown, on August 30 via 4AD. He’s got dates with Tame Impala starting next week, including Madison Square Garden, and has a few other NYC shows and DJ gigs while in town.
