O’BROTHER / THE END OF THE OCEAN / HOLY FAWN

Post-hardcore staples O’Brother are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut album The Death of Day on tour this year, and they’ve lined up pretty incredible support: back-in-action post-rockers The End of the Ocean and shoegazy black metallers Holy Fawn (who recently signed to Triple Crown). All dates (Including Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus on 10/10) here.

CAPTURED! BY ROBOTS / BEHOLD… THE ARCTOPUS / DYSRHYTHMIA

To quote Wikipedia, Captured! By Robots “is a touring grindcore band with only one human member. The music is all played physically by the 2 robots, GTRBOT666 and DRMBOT0110, and the human slave Jbot.” The long-running band is promising a new album soon, and they’ve also announced a lengthy headlining tour for September through November. There’s a run with very solid support from Behold… the Arctopus and Dysrhythmia that hits Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus on 10/9. They’re also opening the Oakland date of Nile and Terrorizer’s tour on 11/24, and promising a West Coast tour for January. All dates and more info here.

YONATAN GAT (GREEN WOOD CEMETERY & MORE)

Former Monotonix frontman Yonatan Gat has a few upcoming shows, including tonight in Ottawa, Guelph, ON, Toronto, and Newport, RI. He’s also got a very special Brooklyn show at Green Wood Cemetery on July 27 where he’ll be collaborating with Native American group Eastern Medicine Singers. It’s the first in a series, presented by Pioneer Works, called “Graveyard Shift” that “proposes a new way of interacting with the space of the cemetery by activating it through sight, sound, and movement. This performance program features commissions taking place at and in collaboration with Brooklyn’s historic Green-Wood Cemetery, where the storied landscape and monuments are used as reference points for producing site-specific works.” This performance concludes with a procession “across Green Wood’s moonlit paths.”
