COURTNEY MARIE ANDREWS opening for JOHN PRINE

Before Courtney Marie Andrews begins her previously-announced spring run with Deer Tick (which hits Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg twice in May), she’s just been tapped to open for the legendary John Prine at a few of his upcoming East Coast dates this April, which includes his sold-out show at Port Chester’s Capitol Theatre on 4/12 and Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre on 4/13. Aside from these shows, Courtney will also be making appearances at Willie Nelson’s Luck Reunion during SXSW week in March, Newport Folk Festival in July, and Oregon’s Pickathon in August. 108 openers (RACETRAITOR & more)

Krishnacore vets 108 announced two special NYC shows celebrating the 25th anniversary of their 1994 sophomore LP Songs of Separation, happening at Brooklyn Bazaar on November 1 & 2 (sold-out). The band has just revealed the openers for both dates: reunited hardcore band Racetraitor (who released their first new album in 20 years last year) will serve as openers for both dates, where they’ll be joined by Louisville’s Miracle Drug (members of Mouthpiece, Supertouch, C.R., By The Grace Of God) and NJ’s High Disciple (members of 108, Texas is the Reason, Jets to Brazil, Lifetime) on 11/1, followed by Long Island’s Sanction and Boston’s Pop Wig-signed Firewalker (who are also opening one of the Youth of Today shows) on 11/2. More info can be found here. Racetraitor are also playing a couple fests: Oklahoma’s STAG a PromCore Pre-Show and San Antonio’s HOPE for Shelter IV.

DEERHUNTER

Last year, Deerhunter revealed 2019 North American tour dates behind this year’s great Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared?, with support from Mary Lattimore and L’Rain. That tour begins tonight (2/15) at Nashville’s Cannery Ballroom, and following this they’ll be hitting tons more cities, including an NYC stop at Brooklyn Steel on 2/27, and further shows in New Haven, Philly, Toronto, Baltimore, Louisville, and others. They’ve also got tons of festival appearances too, including Pitchfork and The Art Institute of Chicago’s Midwinter Festival tomorrow (2/16), SXSW and Savannah Stopover Festival in March, TX festival Marfa Myths in April, Atlanta’s Shaky Knees and Spain’s Primavera Sound in May, and UK fest End of the Road in August.

JAMES BLAKE

James Blake’s long-awaited 2019 tour behind the excellent Assume Form kicks off tonight (2/15), when he makes an appearance at Miami’s iii Points Festival. Other upcoming dates include two sold-out NYC shows at Terminal 5 on February 24 & 25, in addition to other dates in Boston, Philly, Washington D.C., Oakland, Chicago, LA, Toronto, Montreal, and more. James will also be playing several European shows beginning in April, which includes Spain’s Primavera Sound and its Portuguese edition NOS Primavera Sound in June. All updated tour dates here.

MURRAY LIGHTBURN (THE DEARS)

The Dears frontman Murray Lightburn announced tour dates in anticipation of his upcoming solo LP Hear Me Out, which drops next week. In addition to previously-announced US dates in March, such as his NYC date at Rockwood Music Hall on 2/23, he’s got some new North American shows later in the year, including three Canadian shows in Waterloo, Burnstown and London, ON, with two further dates in Cambridge on 4/1 and Philadelphia on 4/2. MARINA

Welsh pop singer MARINA (formerly “and the Diamonds”) has announced the release of her newest album LOVE + FEAR, which is out April 26 via Atlantic. She’ll be supporting the double album with a North American tour beginning in September, which includes a date at NYC’s Central Park Summerstage on 9/16, as well as stops in Toronto, Philly, Austin, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Seattle, San Francisco, and other cities. All dates are listed here, and you can listen to a previously-released single from LOVE + FEAR, “Handmade Heaven,” below.

RIVERS OF NIHIL (SECOND NYC SHOW)

Pennsylvania tech-death crew Rivers of Nihil will soon be on tour performing 2018’s Where Owls Know My Name from front to back. This includes a NYC show at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus on 4/6, which sold out, and the band has added a second NYC date at the venue on 4/7. This show will be opened by fellow Pennsylvania metal bands Outer Heaven (who are performing last year’s Realms of Eternal Decay in its entirety) and Burial In The Sky, along with NYC-based Imperial Triumphant. THE CLAYPOOL LENNON DELIRIUM (RECORD RELEASE EVENT)

Primus’ Les Claypool and Sean Ono Lennon will be on tour this spring behind their upcoming LP as The Claypool Lennon Delirium, South of Reality (which is out next week), and before that kicks off, the duo just announced a record release event at Brooklyn’s Rough Trade on 2/19. While the two won’t be performing at the event, they’ll be participating in a Q&A with Relix Magazine’s Mike Greenhaus, with a listening session to follow. ZAKK WYLDE added to ‘EXPERIENCE HENDRIX’ TOUR

The annual “Experience Hendrix” tour, which celebrates the legacy of the legendary guitarist, is happening in 2019 beginning in March, with previously-announced acts including Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine, Band of Gypsys’ Billy Cox, Joe Satriani, Dweezil Zappa, and Taj Mahal, among others. Recently, it was announced that Black Label Society frontman and Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde will be joining the tour’s already-stacked lineup of shredders. The tour kicks off in Florida early next month, and includes several NY/NJ dates, including Westbury, Newark, Red Bank, and Albany. Head here to find tickets to all dates.

THE BOUNCING SOULS

Before their previously-announced world tour, NJ punks The Bouncing Souls added an intimate “Acoustic Storytellers Show” in Garwood, NJ in celebration of their 30th anniversary as a band.

RUFUS WAINWRIGHT

Rufus Wainwright has added two intimate solo shows at NYC’s City Winery to his ongoing 2019 tour.
