DIPLO

Having just played NYC’s Electric Zoo this past weekend, Diplo has revealed that his next NYC appearance will take place at Mad Decent’s Higher Ground party on September 22 at Brooklyn Mirage, alongside Walker & Royce, Paul Woolford, Huxley, Golf Clap, Sidepiece, Anden, LP Giobbi, Fundidio, Dateless, and Lukewarm. CHERIE CURRIE & BRIE DARLING

Cherie Currie (The Runaways) and Brie Darling (Fanny) released The Motivator earlier this year, which featured originals and covers of songs by T. Rex, The Rolling Stones, Buffalo Springfield, Stevie Wonder, and John Lennon. You can stream that below. They’ll be on tour this fall, hitting Las Vegas, Philly, NYC (Le Poisson Rouge on 11/17), Ottowa, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, L.A. and more. Head here for all dates.

Soul great Bettye LaVette, who released Things Have Changed last year, will be on tour this fall, including shows in Paris, London, Hamiltion Ontario, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Phoenix, DC, and more. She’s also playing a free show in Brooklyn to kick off the 2019 BRIC Jazz Festival on October 19 at The Plaza @ 300 Ashland. All dates are here.

CHRIS FORSYTH

Jam-friendly indie rocker Chris Forsyth is about to kick off a residency at NYC’s Nublu, which goes down every Friday in September. He’ll have “two sets with unique guests, collaborations, and material each night,” including Garcia Peoples on 9/6, Steve Wynn (The Dream Syndicate & Linda Pitmon on 9/13, Gold Dime (ex-Talk Normal) & Dave Harrington (ex-Darkside) on 9/20, and Ryley Walker & Daniel Carter on 9/27. Chris Forsyth and Garcia Peoples also play Philly together on 9/14. All dates here.
