SORRY

UK group Sorry released appealing new single “Right Round the Clock” this week via Domino, and they’ve just shared its b-side, a skronky, jazzy tale of fame and fortune. You can watch the video for that below, and keep an ear out for their debut album in the spring. Sorry will be coming to the U.S. for SXSW and will play shows in NYC (March 12 @ Union Pool) and Los Angeles (March 16 @ Moroccan Lounge) beforehand. They’ll also be on tour in the UK next year — all dates are here.

JAMES VINCENT MCMORROW (POSTPONES L.A. & NYC SHOWS)

Irish singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow was to have played Brooklyn and Los Angeles in early December, but unfortunately he’s had to postpone those two shows. “We’ve been racing to try and get my visa turned around in time to get on a plane this Thursday, the way the system is built is pretty complicated, you’re in the dark until the passport shows up at your house,” James wrote on Instagram. “Believe me when I say we moved heaven and earth to try and make this happen over the last couple weeks, we thought yesterday it could come together but thanksgiving is fully fuckin up my situation. I’m genuinely gutted that I have to postpone.”  He hasn’t postponed them too long, with both happening in January: Brooklyn will be 1/23 at Murmrr Theatre and L.A. is now 1/25 at The Lodge Room. Original tickets are valid for the new shows, and refunds are available at point of purchase. He’s still playing Toronto this weekend. Head here for all dates.

BILL FRISELL’s HARMONY (WITH PETRA HADEN, HANK ROBERTS & LUKE BERGMAN)

Back in October, guitar great Bill Frisell released HARMONY, his first album under his own name for Blue Note, which is a collaboration with vocalist Petra Haden, cellist & vocalist Hank Roberts, and guitarist, bassist & vocalist Luke Bergman. You can stream that below. Bill will take HARMONY on the road in 2020, starting at SF Sketchfest where he’ll also help out with one of Fred Armisen’s “Comedy for Musicians but Everyone is Welcome” shows. Then HARMONY will play Cambridge (MA), Burlington (VT), Portsmouth (NH), Ardmore (PA), Baltimore, Minneapolis, Boulder, Seattle, Eugene, Portland, and Park City, UT. Bill’s also got 2019 dates as a duo with guitarist Julian Lage. All dates are here.

JACQUEES

Jacquees has announced 2020 tour dates supporting his recently released album King of R&B. All dates (including Brooklyn’s gorgeous Kings Theatre on February 18) here. Most shows on sale this Friday (11/29) with presales beforehand.
