They recently played NYC on that tour, and they’ll be back to open for The Breeders at Terminal 5. (The Breeders’ Brooklyn Steel show is with Flasher and their Capitol Theatre show is with Melkbelly.) Screaming Females also added three Northeast dates for July. Updated dates HERE.

Parquet Courts will begin their tour supporting new album Wide Awake! at the end of April…which they still haven’t announced a NYC show for. (Northside maybe?) In the meantime, frontman A. Savage will perform at Ridgewood, Queens’ Trans-Pecos on Saturday (4/14) as part of “Music Against Mass Incarceration II,” an all-day benefit show supporting Just Leadership USA, an organization fighting for the closure of Rikers Island and for decarceration and prison closure nationwide. Other dates include Seattle’s Capitol Hill Block Party and Calgary, AB’s Terminus Festival in July.

David Thomas long-running art-punk band Pere Ubu will be on The MonkeyNet Tour this year. Most dates are in Europe (in May and June) but the band will play NYC on August 15 as part of Le Poisson Rouge’s 10th anniversary (tickets). For all dates and tickets, head here. Meanwhile, Pere Ubu just release a new box set, Les Haricots Sont Pas Salés 1987-1991, which collects their albums from when they flirted with pop music (including two albums for major label Fontana).

Canadian alt-country musician Lindi Ortega is on tour now in North America supporting her recently-released Western-inspired concept album Liberty. She also tours Europe with Jason Isbell in June.

Vagabon has a busy spring and summer ahead. In May she’ll be on a West Coast/Southwest tour with Julie Byrne that includes a stop at FORM Arcosanti in Arizona, and then she’ll head to Barcelona to play Primavera Sound. Then in July, she’ll hook up with Courtney Barnett and those dates wrap up with a big BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival show in Prospect Park on July 25 with Julien Baker on the bill too. Vagabon also has some headline shows on tap, including one this weekend at NYC’s soon-to-close DIY venue Silent Barn.

Having just wrapped up a tour around SXSW, Montreal’s effervescent Men I Trust have just announced another North American tour that includes headline shows, a stop at Brooklyn’s Northside Festival in June, and dates with Belle & Sebastian.

They just dropped a good new single with an unpleasant name, and Cherry Glazerr will play shows with Portugal. The Man ahead of their upcoming Coachella appearances. They’ve also got some Canadian festival dates in July.
