CAMP COPE / OCEANATOR / THIN LIPS / AN HORSE

Camp Cope’s North American tour behind last year’s superb How To Socialize and Make Friends (our #1 album of 2019) kicks off at Iowa’s Grunnell College tonight (4/19) and features support from Oceanator on all dates, with additional help from Thin Lips and An Horse on select shows. Camp Cope’s other upcoming dates include a BV/AdHoc-presented show at Brooklyn’s Warsaw on 4/25, and further stops in Chicago, Boston, Philly, Austin, Atlanta, LA, San Diego, Portland, St. Paul, and tons more. ETERNAL SUMMERS opening for Japanese Breakfast

Eternal Summers singer/guitarist Nicole Yun jjust announced her solo debut, but don’t worry, the band is still going and will be on the road in May, including shows opening for Japanese Breakfast at select cities across the Southeastern US, such as Norfolk, Asheville, Carrboro, and Charlottesville in May. The band also has one headlining date on the cards, at Boone, NC’s The Cardinal on 5/4. All dates here.

THE POLYPHONIC SPREE (headlining Texas’ #CAREFORTHECARAVAN EVENT)

Long-running Texas choral rock group The Polyphonic Spree have been tapped to headline the “#CareForTheCaravan” event at Dallas’ Granada Theater on 5/18, which aims to “amplify this humanitarian crisis [at the US-Mexico border], mobilize grassroots support and bring critical aid to those in need.” The event was created by Texas social justice group Buffalo Tree, who put on the star-studded Buffalo Tree Festival last October. Aside from The Polyphonic Spree, there will be additional performances from Cure for Paranoia and Cry Havoc Theater Company. Tickets are on sale now, with proceeds going towards aid and delivery costs to the border. More info about the event here. The Polyphonic Spree’s only other scheduled dates is a holiday show on December 14 in Dallas.

GRAHAM PARKER

Veteran UK songwriter Graham Parker is best known for his work with his full band The Rumour, but for his latest tour he’ll be on his own as part of a special solo acoustic tour, supporting his recent acoustic re-recording of his celebrated 1979 LP Squeezing out Sparks. He’ll play two shows at NYC’s City Winery on May 6 and 7 (night two is sold out), and other stops in South Orange, Washington D.C., Boston, Annapolis, Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte, and more. Injury Reserve announced tour dates behind their anticipated self-titled album, including a one-off date in NYC.

THE DARKNESS

With new album Easter is Cancelled on the way this fall, The Darkness are getting their instruments tuned up and their catsuits laundered for an upcoming UK / EU tour. They do have one show in the U.S. — Seattle on July 6.
