JAWBOX

Following a warm-up show in Baltimore, reunited post-hardcore greats Jawbox are set to begin their first tour in 20 years tonight. The tour starts with two nights in Cambridge, and also hits Philly, Brokolyn, two nights in DC, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, two nights in LA, Dallas, Austin, Minneapolis, two nights in Chicago, and Gainesville’s The Fest. Openers vary by date and include The Velvet Teen, Shudder To Think’s Craig Wedren, No Knife, Motion City Soundtrack’s Justin Courtney Pierre, The Life and Times, and more.

SUNN O))) / PAPA M / BIG|BRAVE

The first of two 2019 albums from Sunn O))), Life Metal, is out now, and the band have now announced a West Coast tour. Like their recent East Coast/Midwest tour, Papa M (Slint’s David Pajo) will support, and there are also dates with BIG|BRAVE whose great new album is out now. All dates here.

JEANINES

Brooklyn duo Jeanines just released their debut album on Slumberland, which is an indiepop instant classic (think Veronica Falls or The Bats).  The band will head out on a short album release tour this week, playing Richmond on 6/18, DC on 6/19, Baltimore on 6/20 and then back home to Brooklyn for a show at Alphaville on June 22 with Holy Tunics, Australian ex-pats Free Time and Kevin Hairs. They also play Coney Island Baby on August 16  with The Catenary Wires (aka Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey of Talulah Gosh and Heavenly whose album is also out today) and Pale Lights.

BUSH TETRAS

Bush Tetras have a new 7″ single on the way via Third Man and while details of that are still TBA, they’ll celebrate with a NYC show on August 3 at Mercury Lounge with Thalia Zedek’s E., DJ Dave Buick (Third Man), DJ Trip Warner (Warf Cat). Tickets are on sale now. It’s currently the band’s only live show.

COMMON

Common has just shared his new single and video, “HER Love” which features an unreleased beat by J Dilla and appearances by Daniel Caesar and Dwele. You can watch that below. He’s also just announced the second leg of his Let Love Tour, which kicks off August 7 on Toronto and includes stops in Detroit, Cleveland, DC, Philly, Nashville, Austin and more. SLEATER-KINNEY

Tickets for Sleater-Kinney’s fall tour went on sale today and the band also added additional shows in Chicago, Oakland, Portland, and Seattle.

IAN NOE

Rising Kentucky folk/country singer Ian Noe is going on his first-ever headlining tour behind his Dave Cobb-produced debut album Between the Country.

RICHARD THOMPSON

The great Richard Thompson heads out on a solo acoustic tour next week, including a newly announced NYC show.

PALLBEARER

Modern doom greats Pallbearer are touring this summer, including a ‘Sorrow & Extinction’ set in their hometown, some shows with Baroness, and more.

DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR

Boston metallic hardcore vets Death Before Dishonor are gearing up to release their first album in a decade and they’re playing shows, including Brooklyn and This Is Hardcore.
