LAURA GIBSON

In addition to announcing a new album and releasing a new song, Laura Gibson has announced a North American tour, which includes an NYC show at Rough Trade on 11/27, as well as stops in Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, and more. She’ll then embark on a co-headlining tour with Dan Mangan throughout Europe in November. All dates can be found here.

GANG GANG DANCE

Gang Gang Dance released the solid Kazuashita back in June, which marked their first album in seven years. The band has recently added more dates to their tour, which includes two NYC shows; first playing with Interpol at House of Vans this Friday (8/24), and then an appearance at MoMa PS1’s Warm Up on 9/1 with Discwoman, Lizzo, Yaeji, The Italian New Wave, and others. The band will receive support from Animal Collective’s Deakin on the remainder of their tour, which includes stops in Baltimore, Chicago, Montreal, and many other cities. Full list of dates here.

MARY CHAPIN CARPENTER

Folk vet Mary Chapin Carpenter recently released Sometimes Just the Sky, which features newly recorded versions of some of her best songs from throughout her career, plus the brand-new titled track. You can stream it here. Her fall tour in support of the LP begins October 11 in Clearwater FL, and comes to an end in NYC with two just-added shows at Lincoln Center’s The Appel Room November 9 & 10 (tickets on sale 8/24 @ 10 AM). FREYA RIDINGS

British singer/songwriter Freya Ridings broke through last year with her single “Lost Without You,” which (understandably) got her more than a few comparisons to Florence + the Machine. (She’s also got a pretty cool piano-based cover of Yeah Yeah Yeah’s “Maps.”) Freya’s touring, mostly in Europe and the UK, but she also has three US dates: Austin’s ACL Fest, NYC’s Joe’s Pub on 11/20, and LA’s Troubadour on 11/23. WILL OLDHAM

Will Oldham (aka Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy) recently shared a new song, and announced some North American shows in the fall, including two nights at Brooklyn’s Murmrr Theatre on 10/10 and 10/11 with The Other Years. He just announced another appearance in NYC at The Bell House on 10/23, where Will is set to discuss his new book, “Songs of Love and Horror,” which comprises nearly 30 years worth of song lyrics. SAY LOU LOU

Say Lou Lou, the Australian/Swedish sisterly duo who used to be called Saint Lou Lou and who are the daughters of The Church’s Steven Kilbey, will release their second album, titled Immortelle, on September 21. You can check out their current single “Golden Child,” which hits a ’70s vibe somewhere between Fleetwood Mac and ABBA, below. The duo will be in the U.S. this fall for shows in Los Angeles (Moroccan Lounge, 11/28) and Brooklyn (Park Church Co-Op, 11/30).

Lost Under Heaven are going on a short US tour this fall ahead of the release of their sophomore album.

Jeff Rosenstock and Chris Farren’s band Antarctigo Vespucci signed to Polyvinyl and announced a tour with Katie Ellen.
