tours announced: Lauryn Hill, Too Free, The Fratellis, Reigning Sound, more

The following new tours were announced. Check the Tour Dates category every day for more.

MS LAURYN HILL

Lauryn Hill has added more dates to her 2020 tour, including Providence, Richmond, DC, Cincinnati, and two more NYC-area shows. In addition to Capitol Theatre on 2/20 and United Palace on 2/22 there are also shows at The Wellmont Theatre on 2/14, and NYCB Theatre at Westbury on 2/15. All dates are here.

TOO FREE

Too Free — the new-ish band of Big Freedia associate Awad Bilal, Merchandise frontman Carson Cox, and drummer Don Godwin (of Callers) — will release their debut album, Love In High Demand, on February 21 on Sister Polygon Records. You can check out the video for the very danceable new single “No Fun” below. Too Free also have a couple record release shows next month: Washington, DC’s U Street Music Hall on 2/22 and NYC’s Trans-Pecos on 2/27.

THE FRATELLIS

UK group The Fratellis might be best known for their 2007 debut album but they’ve made four records since, and will have another one — Half Drunk Under A Full Moon, due in April — by the time they tour North America this summer. Dates kick off June 1 in Vancouver and include stops in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Salt Lake City, Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Toronto, NYC (Webster Hall on 6/16), Boston, Philly, DC, Nashville, Atlanta. REIGNING SOUND

Soulful garage rock vets Reigning Sound have a few Midwest dates in March, hitting Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit and Cleveland. Head here for those dates.

STEVE GUNN / WILLIAM TYLER

Steve Gunn and William Tyler have added a fourth show to their upcoming Union Pool residency where they’ll be joined each night by friends and surprise guests. The just added show happens February 4 and tickets are on sale. The other three shows (February 5-7) are sold out. Gunn and Tyler will be on tour with Mary Lattimore in March on their way to Knoxville’s Big Ears festival.

THE SADIES

Canadian greats The Sadies are currently in Brooklyn and play their second show of a two-night stand at Union Pool tonight. From there, The Sadies head to Philadelphia, Montreal and more.

SHOW ME THE BODY

Genre-defying punks Show Me The Body are going on tour supporting Code Orange this spring, joining a stacked bill that also includes Jesus Piece, Year Of The Knife, and Machine Girl. That tour doesn’t hit NYC but Show Me The Body have added a Brooklyn headlining show after it wraps up.

WRISTMEETRAZOR & FOREIGN HANDS

As mentioned, Louisville’s stacked hardcore festival LDB Fest is returning in a couple weeks, and a number of those bands are also touring together around the fest, including Wristmeetrazor and Foreign Hands.

MOUNT SHARP

Brooklyn indie rock band Mount Sharp will soon be back with their first album in five years and have a few shows coming up.
