MONOLORD / BLACKWATER HOLYLIGHT
Monolord recently released their first album for Relapse, No Comfort, and they’re gearing up for a US tour with Blackwater Holylight (who also recently released a new album, Veils of Winter). The tour’s previously announced Brooklyn show for 11/17 at Saint Vitus has sold out, so they added a second show happening one night later at the same venue (tickets). All dates here.
Louisville “scream-pop” duo GRLwood recently released their very solid new album I Sold My Soul To The Devil When I Was 12, and they recently added more tour dates in support of it. They’re playing West Coast shows this week, and later this year they’ll play Chicago, Toronto, Jersey City, Brooklyn, Hamden, DC, and more. All dates and tickets here.
JAMES VINCENT MCMORROW
Indie folk-turned-R&B singer/songwriter James Vincent McMorrow has a new album on the way, but first he’s playing six shows, which will be his only dates of 2019. They happen in London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Toronto, Brooklyn, and Los Angeles. The Brooklyn show is 12/3 at Murmrr Theater. All dates and a message from JVM here.
Atlanta’s Omni release their first album for Sub Pop next week and begin their fall tour tonight in Nashville. From there they head to Lexington, KY, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, Brooklyn (Baby’s All Right on 10/29 with Gustaf, and The Sultan Room on 10/30 with Patio and The Hecks), Philly, DC, Raleigh, and Atlanta. They’ve also got more dates in December, including New Orleans, Austin, El Paso, Tucson, Boise, Seattle, Portland, Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles and more. DURAND JONES AND THE INDICATIONS with Y LA BAMBA and KAINA
Soul revivalists Durand Jones and the Indications announced a 2020 tour, including one leg with Y La Bamba and one with KAINA.
Brooklyn group Jeanines’ debut album from this year is an instant indiepop classic, full of jangling guitars and earworm melodies. The band will head out on a West Coast tour in January, playing Los Angeles, Oakland, San Francisco, Chico, Portland and Seattle. Those dates and their brand new video for their song “Winter in the Dark” are below:

NYHC bands Agnostic Front and Sick Of It All are playing four NYC shows in four boroughs the same week AF open for the Misfits in Philly. Meanwhile, both bands have other tour dates too, including shows tonight. AF play Denver tonight and SOIA play LA tonight.
THE WELL / ZIG-ZAGS
Austin heavy psychsters are on tour now and playing Brooklyn with Heavy Temple tonight (10/23). They also announced a 2020 West Coast tour with their RidingEasy Records labelmates Zig-Zags.
ANDY SHAUF with MOLLY SARLE and FAYE WEBSTER
Andy Shauf announced a new album and tour, including one leg with Mountain Man’s Molly Sarle and one with Faye Webster.
Anti-Flag are playing a BrooklynVegan-presented NYC show on Halloween (and some other US one-offs after that), and now they announced a lengthy North American tour for 2020.
