THE DOOBIE BROTHERS WITH MICHAEL MCDONALD

Michael McDonald will be joining The Doobie Brothers on tour for the first time in over 25 years in 2020, and they’ve just added 23 additional dates, including shows in including shows in Jacksonville, Toledo, Grand Rapids, Kansas City, St. Paul, Boise, Albuquerque, New Orleans, Memphis and more. Tickets for the whole tour — including previously announced NYC-area shows — go on sale December 6 at 10 AM local time.

PAUL MCCARTNEY

Paul McCartney is headlining the 2020 edition of Glastonbury, and he’s announced that right before that he’ll play Hannover, Germany. “I have such incredible memories of my time in Germany and always enjoy every time I get to go back. Unbelievably it’s 17 years ago since my last show in Hanover,” says Paul. He’s also got 2020 dates in France, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands. All dates are listed here.

LORDS OF ACID

Gothy acid house / new beat group Lords of Acid will be heading out on the “Make Acid Great Again” tour which features the return of Praga Khan, plus Aesthetic Perfection and MXMS will also be along for the ride. Dates kick off March 13 in Los Angeles and the tour will make its way around North America before wrapping up back in California in San Francisco on April 15. The NYC show happens April 3 at Gramercy Theater. Head here for all dates.

COMBO CHIMBITA

Brooklyn tropical futurists Combo Chimbita just played a hometown show last week and they’ve just announced a special holiday show at Knitting Factory on December 28 which is with Sun Ra Arkestra. (You can use password AHOMALE to get presale tickets now.) The band also have a few 2020 dates, including California shows in Santa Cruz and San Francisco in February and Columbus, OH in March. SUN RA ARKESTRA

The 12/28 Knitting Factory show with Combo Chimbita will wrap up a year for Sun Ra Arkestra celebrating bandleader Marshal Allen’s 95th birthday. Before that they’ve got a couple other shows, both of which are this week: Baltimore on Wednesday and Ardmore, PA on December 1. All details are here.

JAWBOX

Jawbox made a triumphant return this year with their first shows in 20+ years, and the reunion is set to continue into 2020. They recently announced shows in Richmond and Carborro, and an appearance at Atlanta’s Shaky Knees festival, and today they added their first UK headline show.

ABBATH CANCELS MORE DATES

Former Immortal frontman Abbath Doom Occulta recently cut an Abbath show short after reportedly being drunk on stage, and then cancelled the remainder of the Abbath tour due to “health issues.” Now, he has issued a statement saying that he’s been battling addiction and will be going to rehab, and needs to cancel the December tour with his Motörhead tribute band Bömbers as a result.
