tours announced: Pharmakon, Black Milk, Just Friends/Save Face/Sonder Bombs, more

The following new tours were announced. Check the Tour Dates category every day for more.

NEUROSIS / BELL WITCH / DEAFKIDS

Neurosis’ live show remains truly earth-shattering, the kind of thing you really need to experience for yourself at least once (and hopefully more times than that), so it’s exciting that their East Coast/Midwest tour is finally about to get underway. The tour begins in Atlanta tonight (8/7), and it’s with two great support bands: Bell Witch, who share Neurosis’ knack for mixing thick, lumbering riffs and gorgeous atmospheric passages but in a very different way, and Brazilian psychedelic punks Deafkids, who recently released a new album on Neurosis’ label. The tour includes a NYC show at Brooklyn Steel on Saturday (8/11), and we’re giving away tickets to that one at Invisible Oranges. All dates here.

PHARMAKON

Noise artist Pharmakon shared a second song off her upcoming album Devour (due 8/30 via Sacred Bones) today and she’s also going on a lengthy tour after playing Hopscotch Fest, including shows in Richmond, Atlanta, New Orleans, Dallas, Austin, LA, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Montreal, Providence, Philly, Baltimore, and more. All dates here.

JUST FRIENDS / SAVE FACE / THE SONDER BOMBS

Just Friends have announced a tour behind last year’s Nothing But Love (Pure Noise Records), a fun, lighthearted, genre-defying album that fuses indie-punk, ska, funk rock, hip hop, and more, and ends up sounding like Sublime or Fishbone but with a modern DIY twist. They’re set to tour with NJ emo-punks Save Face and ukulele-infused indie-punks The Sonder Bombs, which is a cool, diverse bill all around. All dates (including Brooklyn Bazaar on 10/4 and Asbury Park’s House of Independents on 10/5) here.

HABIBI / FRUIT & FLOWERS

Brooklyn’s garage/psych/surf/pop group Habibi will be on tour with Fruit & FLowers starting August 21 in Pittsburgh and from there hit, Cincinnati, Knoxville, Nashville, Atlanta, Asheville, Charlotte, Richmond, Brooklyn (Sultan Room on 9/3), Elizabethtown, and Minneapolis.
