The following new tours were announced. Check the Tour Dates category every day for more

PUSHA T

Fresh off the release of his terrific new Kanye-produced album, DAYTONA, Pusha T will head out on the DAYTONA tour. Things kick off at Red Rocks in Colorado on July 31 and will have him out for a month with Valee and Sheck Wes. No NYC date but he did just play here as part of Governors Ball. All dates are here.

PAUL SIMON

The great Paul Simon has announced that he’ll wrap up his Homeward Bound farewell tour with a show in Flushing Meadows Park in Corona Queens which he says will be his last-ever.

CAMP COPE / PETAL

One of our most anticipated tours of the summer begins tonight in Philly with two sold out shows at PhilaMOCA (July 20 at Bowery Ballroom is also sold out). Read our reviews of Petal’s album (which just came out) and Camp Cope’s album (from March). Watch Camp Cope cover Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and check out our pictures from their U.S. debut at Silent Barn last year.

THE SPECIALS + ARROYO SECO WEEKEND

Two Tone Ska legends The Specials brought their legendary sound to Brooklyn last year and are now about to start another short round of dates in California this week starting with Fox Theater in Oakland on Thursday, and including their Saturday (6/23) set at the 2-day Arroyo Seco Weekend fest in Pasadena this weekend with Neil Young, Jack White, Belle and Sebastian, The Pretenders, Kamasi Washington, Margo Price, The Bangles, JEFF GOLDBLUM (who is also appearing at David Lynch’s LA fest) and more. Full fest schedule HERE.

KALI UCHIS

R&B singer Kali Uchis, who you may know from Gorillaz, Tyler the Creator, and Miguel albums, released her debut full-length, Isolation, this year, and will be on tour starting in September.

CHAI

Japanese four-piece CHAI, who are an almost indescribable bundle of pop energy, are getting their 2017 debut album released in the U.S. later this summer and will be on tour, including NYC and L.A. shows in September and then a fall UK tour with Superorganism.

PURLING HISS

Philadelphia’s very loud indie rock band Purling Hiss just released a new digital single, “Out Tonight,” which owes more than a little to the hazy sonics of Spacemen 3 (in fact they cover that group’s “Walking with Jesus” on the virtual flipside). You can listen to that below. Purling Hiss will be on the road in July, including a couple shows opening for Dinosaur Jr and a solo show in NYC at Coney Island Baby.

YOUTH OF TODAY

Hardcore legends Youth of Today, who since 2016 have had Walter Schreifels and Sammy Siegler back in the band (along with Ray Cappo and John Porcelly) are playing the The Growlers Beach Goth Fest in August, their only upcoming date at the moment, and probably the only time they’ve ever been billed under The Drums. Tickets are on sale.

HELMET

Alt-metal vets Helmet, who were recently out with fellow NYC band Prong, will be back on the road with dates in North America and Europe. The tour skips NYC this time around but you can check here to see if they’re playing near you.

SLOAN

Canadian greats, who just released their 12th album (which is excellent and made the Polaris longist), have expanded their 2018 touring concern which now includes a Jersey City show.

TEEN

Brooklyn alt-pop group TEEN, which features sisters Teeny, Lizzie and Katherine Lieberson, haven’t released an album since 2016 Love Yes, but they are on a short East Coast tour as we speak. They play Montreal tonight and wrap things up on 6/28 in Brooklyn on Elsewhere’s roof. Head here for dates.
