SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE (SOLO)

Ben Chasny is heading out on a Six Organs of Admittance solo acoustic tour, with dates staying firmly on the West Coast. The tour starts in Seattle tonight (8/17) and runs down to Los Angeles on 8/25. The tour is with Xasthur and Wino and all dates are listed here.

JAWBREAKER

Jawbreaker are resuming their reunion tour tonight (8/17) in Portland. It’s the first of a two-night stand with Swearin’ and Hurry Up. Their next stop after that will be a return to the NYC-area to play Coney Island with Les Savy Fav and J Robbins (of Jawbox), and Asbury Park with Lucero and War On Women. All dates here.

HOT SNAKES

Speaking of reunited punk-ish bands, Hot Snakes will resume touring in September in support of their first album in 14 years, Jericho Sirens. The dates begin in Asbury Park, followed by Brooklyn the next night, then Riot Fest, then lots of Europe dates and more. All dates here.

GUIDED BY VOICES

With two new albums in the hopper, slotted for 2019 and 2020, Guided by Voices are staying busy as always. They’re also staying on the road, having played Brooklyn’s Industry City Courtyard last night. They were supposed to play NJ’s Asbury Lanes tonight, but a death in the family has had them reschedule the show as part of their fall tour which has them out in September, October and November.

SPAIN

Josh Haden will release his seventh album as Spain, titled Mandala Brush, on September 28 via Dangerbird. You can check out the first single, “Maya in the Summer,” below. Spain will also be on tour in Europe in this fall, with a handful of Los Angeles shows at The Love Song happening before and after. All dates are listed here.

MEWITHOUTYOU

After announcing a new album and surprise-releasing an EP, mewithoutYou have announced a tour.

BRANDY (PUNK BAND)

Brooklyn scuzz punks Brandy (as opposed to R&B singer Brandy) features members of Running and Pampers, and will release their debut album this fall. They’ve got local shows coming up opening for Warm Drag and Drunks with Guns.

TRAPS PS

Long part of LA’s DIY scene that congregates around The Smell and Pehrspace, Traps PS are known for tense, explosive live shows that are sometimes in unexpected places ( oil fields, river banks). Their new album, New Chants, is out today via Innovative Leisure, and they’re currently on tour — playing more expected places — with fellow LA band De Lux. Traps PS have also just announced a residency at Los Angeles club The Echo happening every Monday in September, and shows are with some pretty cool guests like Mike Watt, 100 Folowers, The Molochs, and a number of unannounced “specials guests.” Head here tour dates, and details of the residency are on the flyer below:
