SNOH AALEGRA

Swedish R&B singer Snoh Aalegra released her much-loved sophomore album – Ugh, those feels again this year, and she continues to rise. She just announced a 2020 North American tour, which sees her playing bigger venues than ever, including NYC’s Terminal 5 on April 10. All dates and tickets here.
UPDATE: She’s added a second Terminal 5 date on April 16, too; both nights go on sale Friday 12/6 at 10 AM.

ANDREW BIRD / ERIKA WENNERSTROM

Andrew Bird has announced a new 2020 leg of his My Finest Work Yet tour, happening in the spring with Erika Wennerstrom as support. Dates begin with an appearance at South Carolina’s High Water Fest and include stops in Charlotte, Atlanta, Tampa, Orlando, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Austin and more. Tickets for all just-announced dates are on presale now (password: MYFINESTWORKYET).

EMMYLOU HARRIS

Emmylou Harris founded Bonaparte’s Retreat in 2004. Named after her own dog Bonaparte who died suddenly in 2002, the organization rescues shelter dogs and finds them homes. On December 15th, Emmylou will perform an intimate show at The Hamilton Live in Washington DC to raise money for the cause. General Admission tickets are still available. Emmylou’s 2020 schedule so far includes another benefit in Nashville, a North Carolina college show, the Avett Brothers fest in the Dominican Republic, and two shows with John Prine (including one at The Mann in Philly).

3TEETH

In addition to playing the Metallica-headlined Epicenter and Sonic Temple festivals in 2020, ’90s-style industrial revivalists 3TEETH will do a co-headlining tour with Carnifex tour in 2020, in continued support of this year’s METAWAR. The Browning and Skold are opening. All dates (including NYC’s Gramercy Theatre on 4/2) here.

$NOT / JASIAH

Two rising rappers, Florida’s $not and Ohio’s Jasiah, are teaming up for a co-headlining tour in 2020. It hits Dallas, Atlanta, Brooklyn (Market Hotel on 2/11), Philly, Cambridge, DC, Toronto, Chicago, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, LA, and more. All dates here.

THUNDERCAT

Bassist extraordinaire Thundercat had a busy year that included touring with Anderson .Paak, a 14-show residency at NYC’s Blue Note, an appearance at Camp Flog Gnaw fest and he’ll be in Las Vegas for the Intersect Festival this weekend. He’s keeping the momentum going, having just announced a 2020 North American tour which begins February 28 in Vancouver and wraps up April 6 in Dallas.

SLAUGHTER BEACH, DOG opening for WE WERE PROMISED JETPACKS

Modern Baseball offshoot Slaughter Beach, Dog released the very good, darker Safe and Also No Fear this year, and now they’re set to open Scottish indie rockers We Were Promised Jetpacks’ 2020 tour. All dates (including Jersey City’s White Eagle Hall on 2/29) here.

CAM’RON

Cam’ron is releasing his new album Purple Haze 2 on December 16, playing D’usse Palooza at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on December 13 (with Jim Jones, The LOX, and more), and going on a headlining tour in 2020. All dates here.

AMERICAN NIGHTMARE / CEREMONY

Shapeshifting punks Ceremony will be opening American Nightmare’s 20th anniversary tour next year. All dates here.

ANGEL OLSEN (with MOUNT EERIE & more)

Angel Olsen already has a bunch of 2020 tour dates lined up, including a big Prospect Park show with Mount Eerie.

THE DANDY WARHOLS

The Dandy Warhols have been celebrating their 25th anniversary year, and will wrap that up with three Pacific Northwest shows this week in Vancouver, Seattle and Portland. As for 2020, they’ve just announced a trio of East Coast shows in the spring, including two in the NYC area.

PALEHOUND / ADULT MOM

Palehound are teaming up with Adult Mom for a late winter tour that kicks off February 27 in Richmond and wraps up March 28 in Philly, with dates in Atlanta, Dallas, Austin, Phoenix, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Ferndale, Toronto, Montreal, NYC (Bowery Ballroom on March 26), and DC. There’s also a Boston show just a couple weeks after the tour wraps up. Head here for all dates.

THE HOLD STEADY

The Hold Steady’s annual holiday run at Brooklyn Bowl starts this week, and openers were announced today. More info here.

BAMBARA

Bambara will be on tour for their new album Stray, and they’ve just announced more dates, including a new NYC show.

BLOODBATH / NECROT

Swedish death metal supergroup Bloodbath (members of Opeth, Katatonia, and Paradise Lost) recently announced that they’d be making a rare U.S. appearance at Maryland Deathfest 2020, and now they scheduled a string of North American headlining dates with Necrot happening right after.

PIXIES

Pixies are in the midst of a North American tour with old 4AD/Boston friend Kristin Hersh that currently has them in California for multiple shows before coming to NYC where they headline a sold out Webster Hall on December 9. Two days before that, they are appearing on Live from Here with Chris Thile which tapes live at Town Hall in NYC. They’ve also got European/UK dates with IDLES and Pearl Jam.

PUSSY RIOT

Pussy Riot are doing an extensive North American headlining tour in 2020.

ANNA CALVI (POSTPONES NYC & LA SHOWS)

Anna Calvi, who scored the new season of Peaky Blinders, was supposed to play NYC and L.A. this week, but those dates have been postponed till April.

TORRES

Torres has added several US dates to her 2020 tour.

HOLY FUCK

Canadian dancerock outfit Holy Fuck will be supporting their upcoming album, Deleter, with a 2020 tour. The tour doesn’t get much further east than Chicago, but dates include stops in Phoenix, San Diego, Santa Ana, L.A., San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, Calgary, Saskatoon, and St. Paul.

LYNYRD SKYNYRD

Southern rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd have extended their Farewell Tour further into 2020, with many of the new dates featuring support from Eli Young Band and Travis Tritt. Those new shows start March 7 in Savannah, GA and include stops in Florida, California, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Indiana and more. All dates are listed here.
