St. Vincent continues to expand her very busy tour schedule supporting last year’s excellent MASSEDUCTION. It now includes two new LA shows, including a very special intimate evening with Thomas Bartlett (aka Doveman) on piano on 10/2, and a regular full-band show on 10/29. Tonight, she DJs Beck’s LA show at Hollywood Bowl. All dates and tickets here.
BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE
Not exactly a tour, but Broken Social Scene have two West Coast shows this weekend, Long Beach’s Music Tastes Good festival and a newly-added LA show after that.
Courtney Barnett’s tour starts this weekend in Denver and most dates are with Waxahatchee. She’s also got shows with Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks, Lord Huron, Sharon Van Etten, and will play the Mom + Pop 10th Anniversary show in Brooklyn with Sleigh Bells and more. MAXWELL / MARSHA AMRBOSIUS
Maxwell re-released his 2nd album Embrya today on white vinyl, and just began a big tour of North America that has him in Atlantic City over the weekend followed by a three night run in Maryland, NJ and NYC shows, and many more. Tickets are on sale. Marsha Ambrosius, who just released her new album Nyla today, opens all dates.
Hip hop label 88rising released a guest-filled crew album in July and are now on tour through Halloween with most of their roster including Rich Brian, Higher Brothers, Keith Ape, Joji, Kohh, Niki, August 08, Don Krez and more in select cities. It hits Philly tonight, NYC’s new Pier 17 venue on October 3rd before Boston and then The Theater at MGM National Harbor in Maryland. All dates at their site.
Cardi B, who has a new song with DJ Snake out today, is finally playing shows again. She’s playing NYC’s Global Citizen Festival in Central Park this weekend, followed by Newark’s Power 105.1 Powerhouse in October, San Antonio’s Mala Luna, Long Beach’s Tropicalia, the NCA&T Homecoming Concert in North Carolina, and B96 Jingle Bash in the Chicago area.
The Menzingers are on tour now, playing Asbury Park’s Sea.Hear.Now festival this weekend, followed by The Fest, a run with Tiny Moving Parts and Daddy Issues (11/23 at Brooklyn Steel included), Every Time I Die’s holiday show, and more. All dates here.
Melbourne band EXEK start their U.S. tour this weekend with an appearance at Gonerfest in Memphis, will head north for three NYC-area shows, and will then play West Coast dates with Oh Sees and Exploded View.
