The following new tours were announced. Check the Tour Dates category every day for more.

KHRUANGBIN

Texas groovy psych jammers Khruangbin have expanded their 2018 tour and have just announced new shows in Santa Cruz, Minneapolis, Toronto, Denver, and a second NYC show at Brooklyn Steel in December. Tickets for those just-added dates go on sale Friday, July 13. Head here for all dates.

TORO Y MOI

Chaz Bundick is currently working on the new Toro Y Moi album which will be out in early 2019. Before that you can catch Toro Y Moi on tour this fall including a Brooklyn show at Elsewhere Hall on November 10. Tickets for the fall dates go sale Friday, July 13. Before that, TYM is doing DJ gigs with Nosaj Thing under their Laff Trax guise and August dates include an appearance at MoMA PS1 Warm Up and Elsewhere as well. Check out all upcoming dates here.

JUANA MOLINA

Argentine singer/songwriter Juana Molina has announced another US tour in continued support of last year’s acclaimed Halo. The tour brings her to Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, LA, Phoenix, Brooklyn, and Atlanta this September. All dates here.

JPEGMAFIA

Experimental rapper JPEGMAFIA’s Veteran is one of the year’s finest and weirdest rap records, and he just returned today with the Backstreet Boys-inspired “Millennium Freestyle,” which you can hear below. He also announced “The Reverse Christopher Columbus Tour,” which hits Portland, Seattle, Philly, Baltimore, DC, Paris, London, Berlin, and more. There’s no NYC show on this tour, but he plays NYC twice beforehand: Warm Up at MoMA PS1 on 7/28 with SOB x RBE, Omar Apollo, Tony Humphries, and more; and the Afropunk Brooklyn festival. WIEGEDOOD

Belgian black metal band Wiegedood is made up of Oathbreaker members Wim Coppers and Gilles Demolder and Amenra’s Levy Seynaeve, and they recently released De Doden Hebben Het Goed III, the third and final installment of their De Doden Hebben Het Goed trilogy (and their first album for Century Media). They’re now set to support the album with a USA tour that begins at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus on 9/4, and then hits Philly, Orlando, Atlanta, Austin, Phoenix, LA, San Francisco, Seattle, and more. YOB / ACID KING / CHRCH

Speaking of YOB, they’re supporting this year’s great Our Raw Heart with the back-in-action Acid King and the awesome newer band CHRCH, whose Light Will Consume Us All we just included in our list of 5 great 2018 albums you may have missed. All dates here.

WRONG (including dates with UNSANE)

Miami’s Helmet-esque Wrong (ex-Capsule, Torche, Kylesa) are supporting their new album Feel Great (out now on Relapse) with an East Coast tour this month into early August. They’ve got a handful of dates opening for Unsane (another of Wrong’s clear influences), followed by some headlining shows, including Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus on 7/31. All dates here

SHEER MAG

Having just played a free show in NYC this past weekend with Nothing, Beach Fossils and more, glammy garage punks Sheer Mag will be on tour later this summer and fall, including another NYC show which happens October 10 at Music Hall of Williamsburg with Dublin’s The Number Ones. All dates and tickets, here.

YAMANTAKA // SONIC TITAN

The genre-defying Yamantaka // Sonic Titan have announced another tour supporting this year’s very enjoyable Dirt, which has bits of psych, prog, indie rock, metal, folk, choral music and more. Their theatrical live show will hit Brooklyn’s Elsewhere on 10/21, in addition to stops in Philly, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Louisville, and more. All dates here.

THE LEMON TWIGS

Brian and Michael D’Addario have announced their “musical” album which involves the story of a chimp who is raised as a real boy and features Todd Rundgren as the dad. Sounds interesting! The band will be on tour later this year, including dates with Arctic Monkeys.

VAN WILLIAM

Port O’Brien and WATERS frontman Van Pierszalowski releases solo music as Van William, and he’s going on his first-ever North American headlining tour this September/October. The tour is supporting this year’s Countries, which includes his First Aid Kit collaboration “Revolution.” The tour includes a Brooklyn show at Baby’s All Right on 9/14, and there’s also an Indiana show with Manchester Orchestra. THOU

Thou are in the midst of releasing three EPs and a full-length, and across the four releases, they plan to tackle their noise side, their slowcore/folk side, and their grunge side. They haven’t announced a proper tour yet, but they’ve been adding some dates, including Knitting Factory Brooklyn on 9/1. Their current schedule is here.

WARM THOUGHTS (mem Touche Amore) / GLITTERER (mem Title Fight)

Touche Amore drummer Elliot Babin also makes indie rock as Warm Thoughts, and he released I Went Swimming Alone on Asian Man last month. Now he announced the “I Went Touring Alone” tour, which is with Glitterer, the lo-fi pop project of Title Fight co-frontman Ned Russin. They’ll be out from early August through mid-September. STRUNG OUT

Metallic skate punk vets Strung Out returned earlier this year with the acoustic EP Black Out The Sky, and now they’re set to hit the road for an East Coast/Midwest tour in August and September. All dates (including Brooklyn Bazaar on 9/8) here.

LOCAL H

Alt-rock lifers Local H recently toured with Everclear and Marcy Playground, but if you’d rather see them on your own, you’re in luck. They’re doing an “An Evening With” tour (no opener) this year, beginning in Cambridge on 9/5 and then hitting Brooklyn’s Rough Trade (9/6), NJ’s Asbury Lanes (9/7), and much more. All dates here.

JONATHAN RICHMAN

Jonathan Richman shows will make you feel better about the human race, and Jojo will be on tour this fall. Go see him!

GLADIE (with AN HORSE and more)

Gladie, the new-ish band from Cayetana singer Augusta Koch and Three Man Cannon’s Matt Schimelfenig, are not only opening part of Slaughter Beach, Dog’s tour (including Rough Trade NYC on 9/28), they were also added as an opener to An Horse’s comeback shows at Philly’s Johnny Brenda’s on 7/18 and Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on 7/19 (tickets).

THE TWILIGHT SAD

Scottish indie rock staples The Twilight Sad, who were recently in the news discussing losing their friend Scott Hutchison of Frightened Rabbit, and how they made a fan out of (and collaborated with) The Cure’s Robert Smith, and now they released their first new song in four years, “I’m Not Here [missing face].” They also announced a tour, including Brooklyn’s Elsewhere on 11/1 and many other dates, all of which are listed here.

WE WERE PROMISED JETPACKS

Speaking of long-running Scottish indie rock bands, We Were Promised Jetpacks signed to Big Scary Monsters and put out a teaser video… is a new album announcement coming? They also announced an extensive international tour, including stops at NJ’s Asbury Lanes on 10/24, NYC’s Brooklyn Steel on 10/29, and more. All dates and tickets (which go on sale Friday, 7/13) here.

BECK / JENNY LEWIS

Beck’s tour is about to hit the Northeast, and after Glass Animals had to drop off the NYC (Madison Square Garden) and Philly shows, they were replaced by the great Jenny Lewis. More info and all dates here.

SUBHUMANS (most dates with WAR ON WOMEN)

UK punk legends Subhumans are touring the US. Most dates are with War On Women, but the NYC show is with All Torn Up.
