THE WHO

The Who are gearing up for an orchestral North American tour, which begins in Grand Rapids, MI tonight (5/7). The tour soon hits NYC’s Madison Square Garden on 5/13 and includes another NYC-area show at Jones Beach in September. The tour also makes stops in the Chicago area, Philly, Detroit, Toronto, Atlanta, Denver, LA (for two nights at the Hollywood Bowl), and more. Tickets for all dates here. DESPISE YOU / DROPDEAD

Veteran powerviolence bands Despise You and Dropdead (the latter of whom was just in NYC over the weekend opening for Infest) have some shows coming up this year, including one together in Brooklyn on October 19 at The Kingsland with Killer of Sheep and Sick Shit. Despise You also play Sound & Fury and some UK/EU shows in September including Chimpy Fest and Bloodshed Fest. Dropdead are playing Quebec Deathfest.

LOW

Low are continuing to tour in support of 2018’s great Double Negative, and will be heading to Europe later this month beginning with Primavera Sound in Barcelona. They’ve only got a few U.S. shows lined up: Pitchfork Fest in Chicago in July and Hudson, NY’s Basilica Soundscape in September. The band have just announced they’ll stop in Brooklyn after Basilica to play Murmrr Theatre on September 14.

ALEX CAMERON

Having just shared a new single, Alex Cameron has also announced more tour dates, including NYC’s Webster Hall.

SACHIKO KANENOBU

Japanese folk artist Sachiko Kanenobu, whose 1972 album, Misora, is being reissued by Light in the Attic this summer and who was coaxed out of retirement by Steve Gunn, is playing SummerStage at Central Park on the same June 8 free show bill as Parquet Courts and ARP. The day before, she’ll play Brooklyn’s Union Pool (6/7) with Joshua Abrams Information Society. She’ll also play a reissue release show at Los Angeles’ Zebulon on June 20 with Mia Doi Todd.

IDLES

UK punks IDLES are on tour in North America right now with Fontaines D.C. but have announced more dates for the fall with Preoccupations surrounding their appearance at ACL Fest.

SUBZERO / RAMALLAH

NYHC vets SubZero are playing a hometown show on July 5 at Saint Vitus and the band says it’s “the ONLY Subzero show for the rest of 2019 and who knows how long after,” so catch ’em while you can. Opening is White Trash Rob’s post-Blood For Blood band Ramallah and one more TBA.

SANCTUARY (PLAYING REFUGE DENIED)

Thrash/power metal vets Sanctuary are hitting the road for a tour that will have them playing their 1988, Dave Mustaine-produced debut LP Refuge Denied in full. Ghost Ship Octavius are opening, and the tour hits Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus on 7/14 plus makes stops in Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Chicago, Seattle, and more. All dates and tickets here.

EX HEX (SPIDER BAGS OPENING SOME SHOWS)

Having just released their second album, Ex Hex are on tour now and play Brooklyn on Thursday. They’ve also got dates this summer and have just announced that fellow Merge band Spider Bags will join them at a few shows in July, including Athens, Birmingham, and Atlanta. The band’s summer tour also includes NYC-area shows in Hudson, NY (July 6 @ Basilica Hudson as part of the Supertone fest) and Asbury Park (House of Independents on 8/22). All dates are here.

PRINCE DADDY & THE HYENA / RETIREMENT PARTY / KISSISSIPPI / THE OBSESSIVES

Prince Daddy & the Hyena are gearing up to release their new album Cosmic Thrill Seekers, an ambitious rock opera-type album but with a DIY punk sound and spirit, and now they’ve announced a tour supporting it. All dates are with Retirement Party, and the first leg also has The Obsessives while the second leg has Kississippi. The first leg hits Boston, Philly, Asbury Park, DC, Richmond, Nashville, Austin, and much more; while the second leg hits LA, San Diego, Denver, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, NYC, and much more. WORMWITCH / UN

Canadian blackened thrashers Wormwitch recently released their great new album Heaven That Dwells Within, and they’re set to go on another tour supporting it. This one’s with Seattle doomers Un, who released Sentiment last year and a split with Coltsblood this year. The tour hits NYC’s Brooklyn Bazaar on 7/24 and also makes stops in Baltimore, Philly, New Haven, Boston, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Chicago, and more. All dates here.

INCENDIARY

Long Island metallic hardcore crushers Incendiary have announced two Brooklyn shows (7/2 & 7/3 at Saint Vitus), and tickets go on sale Friday (5/10) at noon. They’re also playing Paris and London in August and Mexico City in September.

GENERATIONALS

Louisiana duo Generationals have a new album, Reader as Detective, out in July via Polyvinyl, and they’ll be on tour, too. Dates kick off August 16 in Dallas, and include stops in Austin, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, Denver, Chicago, Toronto, Brooklyn (Music Hall of Williamsburg on 9/26), DC, Philly, Atlanta, New Orleans and more. SOUND OF CERES

With a brand new single out, NYC psych-pop group Sound of Ceres are on tour this month, playing Atlanta and Carrboro this week, and Montreal, Boston, Philly, and DC next week. They’ll also play Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on May 15. The band’s very cool live show usually involves a lot of lasers and mirrors — all dates are here.

DAVILA 666

Puerto Rican garage rock crew Davila 666 will be touring this summer, “coming for your souls and your snacks,” kicking things off in Oakland for the 2019 Burger Boogaloo and wrapping up at NYC’s Rough Trade on July 28. In between they’ll hit Anaheim, L.A., San Diego, Tijuana, Atlanta, Memphis, Chicago, Cleveland and Washington, DC. All dates are here.

LITTLE STEVEN

E Street Band guitarist and garage rock supporter Little Steven just released solo album Summer of Sorcery, his first album of new material in 20 years, and will be touring around the world in support. North American dates are this summer, including shows in Quebec City, Toronto, Buffalo, New Haven, Long Island, Richmond, the DC area and more. ROBERT PLANT

Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters will be back in the U.S in September for a handful of dates with Lillie Mae. The tour kicks off in Fredericton, NB on 9/13 and also hits Philly, Indianapolis, Louisville, Clear Lake, IA, Moorhead, MN, Spokane, Salt Lake City, and Bend, OR. Tickets for these shows go on Sale, Friday, May 10 at 10 AM local time, with fan presales starting Wednesday at 10 AM local. All dates and ticket links are here.

BRIAN FALLON

The Gaslight Anthem’s Brian Fallon is playing some “stories and songs” shows this year, including four sold-out intimate NJ shows and a just-added show at NYC’s Irving Plaza.

Ska-punk vets The Mighty Mighty Bosstones announced a headlining tour for this summer.

STIFF LITTLE FINGERS / AVENGERS

Irish punk legends Stiff Little Fingers are playing their debut album Inflammable Material in full on a 40th anniversary tour, which includes a US leg with San Francisco punk vets Avengers.

BRIAN WILSON / THE ZOMBIES

Two of the greatest and most influential psychedelic pop artists of all time, Brian Wilson and The Zombies, are teaming up for a co-headlining tour this summer. Brian will be playing songs from The Beach Boys’ ‘Friends’ and ‘Surf’s Up’ albums, while The Zombies will play ‘Odessey and Oracle’ in its entirety.

CAT POWER

Cat Power is touring this year behind her great 2018 album Wanderer and she just added several more North American dates.

21 SAVAGE / DABABY

21 Savage is taking his late-2018 album I Am > I Was on tour, with DaBaby opening most dates.

FLIPPER (WITH DAVID YOW)

Flipper (who currently have The Jesus Lizard’s David Yow on lead vocals) expanded their 40th anniversary tour, adding shows in Boston, Brooklyn, Philly, and Baltimore.
