The following new tours were announced. Check the Tour Dates category every day for more.

TOPS

Montreal-based TOPS recently announced a spring North American tour, coming some two years after the band’s last LP Sugar at the Gate. Their tour kicks off with two dates in Mexico in early May, before heading across the border for shows in Dallas, Tucson, Nashville, Tampa, Atlanta, Asheville, Las Vegas, and more. Coinciding with their tour announcement, TOPS unveiled their new video for Sugar at the Gate track “Topless,” whose release lead singer Jane Penny said “took a little longer than I anticipated (ehem, about a year longer).” Despite the long gap, the video — shot in Berlin where Penny lives currently — is pretty cool. Check here for tickets to all tour dates, and watch the video for “Topless” below.

HALF MOON RUN

Speaking of Montreal bands, Half Moon Run seem to be teasing new music, and to further spark anticipation, they’ve just announced a 2019 North American tour. The band will first play a Canadian run of shows this summer, including Winnipeg Folk Fest in July, before several US dates in the fall. This includes stops in Los Angeles, NYC (Bowery Ballroom on 8/16), Philly, Denver, Washington D.C., Boston, San Diego, and more. Afterwards, the band heads to the UK and Europe throughout November. Tickets for these shows go on sale next Friday (5/3) at 10 AM EST, with an artist presale starting Tuesday (4/30) at 10 AM EST. All dates can be found here.

CHOIR BOY (WITH THE FAINT & OTHER DATES)

Gothy Utah band Choir Boy, who reissued their 2016 debut last year via Dias, will be on tour with The Faint on the West Coast starting next week but have headlining dates after that, including shows in Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Boston, Philly, Brooklyn (Rough Trade on May 31), DC, Cleveland, Cincinnati and more.

SHANA CLEVELAND (LA LUZ)

La Luz’ Shana Cleveland released her excellent new solo LP Night of the Worm Moon earlier this month, and she’s set to kick off her tour with The Mountain Goats at Washington D.C.’s 9:30 Club tonight (4/26). Their tour together includes two sold-out NYC-area dates at Brooklyn Steel on 4/30 and Jersey City’s White Eagle Hall on 5/1, but before then, Shana has just added a one-off solo date at Brooklyn’s Rough Trade on 4/29. The event takes place on the shop floor and is free to enter, and you can find all upcoming tour dates here.

THE GOSSIP

Dancerock band The Gossip have reformed to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Music for Men. So far the dates have been in Europe and the UK but they’ve just announced a NYC show.

JAPANESE BREAKFAST

Japanese Breakfast shared her first new song in two years, and her upcoming tour dates include a free Central Park Summerstage show, NJ’s XPoNential Music Festival, Red Rocks with Interpol, and more.

TAME IMPALA

With a new album on the way, Tame Impala will be hitting the road and their tour now includes two Madison Square Garden shows.
