CANNABIS CORPSE

Punny, weed-loving death metallers Cannabis Corpse are gearing up for a spring tour with Psycroptic, Gorod, and Micawber, and while dates for that tour are still TBA, CC have a one-off in Brooklyn at Saint Vitus on Thursday (1/10) with Dehumanized, Blame God, and Oxalate.

HILARY WOODS (with MARISSA NADLER & more)

Dublin dark singer/songwriter Hilary Woods released her very good debut album Colt on Sacred Bones last year, and she’s got a handful of upcoming shows with likeminded labelmate Marissa Nadler. She also plays SXSW and a headlining show at Greenpoint’s gorgeous Park Church Co-Op on 3/8 (tickets). Dates here.

TOURIST

Electronic pop artist Tourist is releasing his new album Everyday on February 15, and he announced a tour supporting it that hits Boston, Chicago, Brooklyn (2/23 at Kings Hall), Seattle, San Francisco, and some EU/UK dates. All dates here. New single below:

MY BRIGHTEST DIAMOND / DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE

Death Cab For Cutie have a 2019 tour coming up in continued support of last year’s Thank You For Today, and it was just revealed that art pop great My Brightest Diamond (who released the dancey A Million and One last year) will open several of Death Cab’s US dates. Death Cab also tour Europe/UK with The Beths, play Firefly, and more. MBD also has other dates, including SXSW and a headlining Brooklyn show on May 14 at Rough Trade. All MBD dates here. MEWITHOUTYOU / TIGERS JAW

Onetime Run For Cover labelmates and fellow Will Yip collaborators mewithoutYou (who are still on RFC) and Tigers Jaw did a couple co-headlining shows together last year, and now they’ve announced a tour together for this March. The tour stops in St. Louis, Denver, Salt Lake City, Boise, and more. All dates here. mewithoutYou released [Untitled] this past fall (which was one of our favorite albums of 2018) and Tigers Jaw last released spin in 2017.

HOMESHAKE

Canadian band Homeshake release their new album, Helium, on February 15 and they’ve just shared a new single, “Just Like My,” which you can check out below. Having announced a NYC show at Brooklyn Steel a while back, now comes a full North American tour, including shows in Montreal, DC, Philly, Carrboro, NC, Atlanta, Nashville, Chicago and Detroit. PHISH

Having just announced three headlining sets at Bonnaroo, Phish now revealed that they’re going on a summer tour surrounding that festival.

JAWBREAKER

Jawbreaker are keeping the reunion going with an East Coast tour in March that includes two NYC shows, NJ, Boston, DC, Philly, and more.

EARTHLESS

Stoner rockers Earthless announced a show at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus (2/9) last year, taking place before they head overseas to tour Australia/New Zealand. That show sold out, but they’ve now got a second BK show scheduled for 2/8 at Brooklyn Bazaar with White Hills. All dates here.

JEREMY ENIGK

Sunny Day Real Estate’s Jeremy Enigk announced a full-band tour in support of his great 2017 solo album Ghosts (which he previously only supported on solo living room tours).

PEDRO THE LION / JOHN VANDERSLICE

Pedro the Lion’s first album in 15 years comes out next week, and they announced a tour with John Vanderslice (who they also toured with back in 2004) in support of it.

BUKE & GASE

Duo Buke & Gase release new album Scholars next week via Brassland and have just shared the highly percussive title track. Check that out below. They’ll head to the UK and Europe in March and, upon returning, will play a few North American shows, including New Haven, Boston, Montreal, Toronto and DC. ESG

NYC post-punk/hip hop icons ESG have upcoming UK/EU dates in March, playing London, Leeds, and Sweden. Their only North American date at the moment is May 10 at Le Poisson Rouge in NYC. More details on their tour can be found here.

PRIESTS

DC post-punks Priests are back with a new album and upcoming tour, including SXSW.

NEIL HAMBURGER

Known everywhere as “America’s Funnyman,” Neil Hamburger has other talents besides comedy. Like singing! In fact he’s got a new album on the way, titled Still Dwelling, that’s out January 25 via Drag City. You can watch the video for “The Luckiest Man in This Room,” that’s either about card or revenge or maybe both, below. Neil’s also got tour dates through the spring including stops in Chicago, Los Angeles, Kansas City, St. Louis, Iowa City, Davenport, IA and the wild kingdom that is Omaha. All dates are here.

SASAMI

Promising indie rocker SASAMI (ex-Cherry Glazerr) announced her debut album on Domino and a tour today.

AMY RIGBY

Terrific singer-songwriter Amy Rigby, whose Tom Petty tribute you may remember from last year, has a few tour dates this spring, including Zihuatanejo, Mexico, Baltimore, Reading, PA, and North Andover, MA. Before that, she’ll be celebrating her 60th birthday on February 5 at Mercury Lounge in NYC. The show is also part of the venue’s 25th Anniversary. All dates are here.

ULTHAR / SCORCHED

Death metal newcomers and 20 Buck Spin labelmates Ulthar and Scorched are hitting the road together this year.

WAKE

Canadian grinders Wake announced a 2019 tour supporting their great 2018 album Misery Rites.

DAN MANGAN

Canadian singer-songwriter Dan Mangan released new album More or Less via Arts & Crafts last year, and will be touring in support of it this year. Most of his North American shows are in his home country, but he does dip below the border for shows in Philly, DC, Boston, and NYC (3/14 @ Mercury Lounge). All dates are here.
