The following new tours were announced. Check the Tour Dates category every day for more.

ANGEL OLSEN

Here’s your one-month-out reminder that Angel Olsen is heading on a solo tour of North America in September, “playing sets that will include her early catalog, new unreleased material, and a lot that falls between.” The trip starts on the west coast in Big Sur, hits the Nourse Theater in San Francisco and many other interesting theaters along the way. The final three shows, with Juliana Barwick opening, are in Philly, Tarrytown and North Adams, MA.

MAC DEMARCO

Mac DeMarco is headed to Outside Lands fest in San Francisco this month, after which he plays five more California shows, four of which are in LA, one of which is with Weyes Blood. He’s back on the road in September with shows at Central Park Summerstage, The Mann in Philly, Red Rocks and more (before heading overseas in October).

SAMMUS

Local underground rapper Sammus is doing a residency at NYC’s Mercury Lounge every Tuesday in September, and she’ll be joined by a variety of different acts each night. Night 1 (9/4) has Deem Spencer and Ehiorobo, night 2 (9/11) has Mal Devisa and Ness Nite, night 3 (9/18) has Machinegirl and Love Spread, and night 4 (9/25) has Poetic Thrust and Jelani Sei. Tickets for all four shows are on sale.

VINNIE CARUANA / BRANDON REILLY (THE MOVIELIFE)

Movielife members Vinnie Caruana and brandon Reilly are playing some intimate shows together this November, and they’re promising music from The Movielife, Vinnie’s band I Am the Avalanche, Brandon’s band Nightmare of You, and more. Spirit Houses (aka Mikey from IATA) is opening. All dates (including Brookly, Asbury Park, and more) here.

TRIBULATION (openers announced)

Swedish metal boundary pushers Tribulation have added openers to their recently announced tour. In addition to the shows with Pallbearer, they’ve also now got shows with Black Anvil, Volahn, Cloak, Morne, and more, varying by date. The Brooklyn show (10/12 at Elsewhere) is with Black Anvil and Morne. All dates/openers here. They also announced a new 7″ for “Nightbound” from their great 2018 album Down Below, which will be backed by a live recording and an instrumental demo of the song. That’s due out September 14.

ETERNAL SUMMERS

Virginia trio Eternal Summers left shoegaze behind for more pop territory with this year’s Every Day It Feels Like I’m Dying, but are still plenty loud live. They’ll be on the West Coast this week, hitting Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland and more. All dates are found here.

HORSE FEATHERS

Portland folk rockers Horse Feather have more dates coming up behind this year’s Appreciation, released in May via Kill Rock Stars. They’re touring Europe in the fall, and upon landing back in the US, they’ll play Brooklyn’s Rough Trade on 10/5 and Freehold, NJ’s ‘Concerts In The Studio’ on 10/13. All dates and tickets here.

THE ORB

Electronic, dub and ambient gurus The Orb just released a terrific new album that features old friends (Youth, Jah Wobble, Roger Eno) and some new ones too (Hollie Cook). They’ll be on tour in November.

LEE SCRATCH PERRY

Another Orb collaborator, dub pioneer Lee Scratch Perry, is celebrating the 45th anniversary of his classic Blackboard Jungle Dub, on tour this fall.

OBITUARY

Florida death metal vets Obituary are touring up and down the East Coast this September.

CIRCA SURVIVE / LA DISPUTE / QUEEN OF JEANS

Circa Survive announced another tour supporting last year’s The Amulet and they’re taking along two pretty great openers.

RASPUTINA

Long-running historically-oriented cello band Rasputina continue to play shows in support of their most recent album, 2015’s Unknown, which was not released digitally. The band have some upcoming shows to finish out the summer, and they’ve also announced a fall show at Brooklyn’s Rough Trade on October 28 (tickets). See all of Rasputina’s upcoming dates here.
