TED LEO

As previously reported, Ted Leo will be doing a few solo dates early next year (including a stop at Florida fest Changeville), and he’s just added a show at NYC’s Brooklyn Bazaar on 2/1, with support from indie rock duo Slingshot Dakota and Brooklyn outfit Super Natural Psycho. Tickets are on sale now, and you can head here for all dates.

VEIN opening for KILLSWITCH ENGAGE

Vein, whose debut album Errorzone is one of the best albums of this whole metalcore/nu metal-leaning hardcore thing, and who play a sold-out headlining show at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus on Saturday (12/22) with Planning for Burial, Regulate, Fuming Mouth, and Silenus, are opening on tour for metalcore vets Killswitch Engage in 2019. The tour (which also includes Parkway Drive and After The Burial) hits NYC’s Terminal 5 on May 9. All dates here.

KIM PHUC

Pittsburgh-based punks Kim Phuc — whose last album was 2011’s Copsucker and two of their members went on to form The Gotobeds — are playing a show at NYC’s Brooklyn Bazaar on 1/19, with support from DC rippers Guilt Parade, Baltimore melodic punks Truth Cult, and NYHC band Outskirts. Tickets for this show, which follows the band’s only other date in Millville, PA this February, are on sale now.

NEON INDIAN

Neon Indian released his first-ever short film today and he’s got a few DJ dates coming up as well: tonight (12/22) at San Diego’s Bang Bang, then Brooklyn’s Good Room on 12/28, and he’ll be at Dallas’ It’ll Do on New Year’s Eve. Head here for all dates.

SUFJAN STEVENS / JUSTIN PECK BALLET

“I wrote music for a new Justin Peck ballet that premieres next month at New York City Ballet,” write Sufjan Stevens. “It’s ten movements for orchestra and piano. I had a lot of fun making it and I got to work with the incredible Timo Andres, who did the final orchestrations.” it’s currently called “New Peck 1 (Winter 2019)” and dates are January 31, February 3, 9, 10, 27, then May 10, 14, 16, and 18.
