tours announced: Wilco openers, Real Estate, King Gizzard, Quintron & Miss Pussycat, more

REAL ESTATE

Real Estate, who have been working on a new album, play the Woodsist Fest in Accord, NY on September 28 with Whitney, Kevin Morby, Woods and more. The next day they’ll play their home state at NJ’s Asbury Lanes on September 29.

KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD

King Gizzard’s foray into thrash metal, Infest the Rats Nest, is out this Friday and the band’s North American tour kicks off tonight in Los Angeles. Fellow Aussies Stonefield and ORB are along for the ride and dates include San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, Chicago, NYC (SummerStage at Central Park on 8/28), DC, Atlanta, New Orleans, Austin and more. WILCO TOUR OPENERS (SOCCER MOMMY, LORD HURON, MOLLY SARLE, DAUGHTER OF SWORDS)

Wilco’s tour start in October and openers for that month have been announced, including Lord Huron (Toronto), Daughter of Swords aka Mountain Man’s Alexandra Sauser-Monnig (Boston, NYC), Soccer Mommy (DC, Atlanta, Birmingham, and Cary, NC), and another Mountain Man member, Molly Sarle (Tulsa, OK and Texas shows). All dates are here. Daughter of Swords, by the way, plays Brooklyn tonight.

MR BUNGLE (W/ DAVE LOMBARDO & SCOTT IAN)

Mr. Bungle are back! Mike Patton, Trevor Dunn, and Trey Spruance are all on board for the 2020 shows — L.A., San Francisco and Brooklyn — and their lineup will very impressively be rounded out by Anthrax’s Scott Ian and former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo (who also plays with Patton in Dead Cross and played with Patton and Dunn in Fantomas).

QUINTRON & MISS PUSSYCAT

New Orleans’ garagey, arty DIY party band Quintron & Miss Pussycat are on tour this fall with Three Brained Robot, including stops in Nashville, Cincinnati, Detroit, Toronto, NYC (Knockdown Center on Halloween), Philly, Baltimore, Raleigh, Miami and more. All dates are here.

PHISH

Phish have announced fall tour dates, including shows in Providence, the NYC area, Pittsburgh, and Charleston, SC.

HEALTH / DAUGHTERS / SHOW ME THE BODY

Daughters and HEALTH, two bands who started out in noise rock but have since expanded their sounds in various ways, have announced a co-headlining fall tour with genre-defying hardcore band Show Me The Body along for the ride.

THE WONDER YEARS HALLOWEEN SHOWS

The Wonder Years are once again doing their Halloween Extravaganza, this time in eight cities, with each band doing their own set and an in-costume cover set.

Avant-rapper/producer JPEGMAFIA just released a new single and has announced a fall tour.

IDK

Maryland rapper IDK’s new album, Is He Real?, is out in September and he’s just announced a fall tour.

JULIA JACKLIN / CHRISTIAN LEE HUSTON

Julia Jacklin released her terrific second album, Crushing, back in February and toured it this spring, and she’s just announced she’s coming back for more. Fall dates kick off at Austin’s ACL Festival and she’ll be out with Christian Lee Huston.

TEEN (FINAL SHOWS)

After 10 years and four underrated albums, Brooklyn trio TEEN (sisters Teeny, Katherine and Lizzie Lieberson) are calling it a day playing their last two shows in Chicago and NYC.

NOFX PUNK IN DRUBLIC

Some updates on NOFX frontman Fat Mike‘s traveling Punk In Drublic festival have been revealed. The Pittsburgh area edition has been postponed until 2020, and two more 2019 editions were added: one in Sacramento, CA and one in Big Bear Lake, CA.

TEGAN AND SARA

Tegan and Sara will be on tour this fall in support of both new album, Hey, I’m Just Like You, and memoir, High School, both of which are snapshots of their teenage years. They’ve also added book-specific events in NYC and L.A.

OMNI

Atlanta trio OMNI have announced fall tour dates in support of their first album for Sub Pop.

WESTERN SETTINGS 

San Diego punks Western Settings are releasing their sophomore album, Another Year, on September 6 and will tour the left half of North America this fall.

HARBORLIGHTS

Massachusetts heavy post-rockers HarborLights will release their first album for Deathwish in September and are touring as well.
