Philly-based Radiator Hospital were a full-blown studio band around the time of 2017’s Radiator Hospital Play The Songs You Like, but their just-announced upcoming LP Music For Daydreaming has the project reverting back to its solo project roots, with main member Sam Cook-Parrott playing every instrument on the record. In promotion of the new album, the band has announced a pair of record release shows happening in NYC (Trans-Pecos on 5/19) and Philly (PhilaMOCA on 5/21). Radiator Hospital offshoot Swanning and fellow Philly band Big Nothing are tapped to open both dates, with additional openers Quaker Wedding on the NYC date, and Cherry on the Philly date. Lloyd says it’s a mostly electronic album, interestingly, and was produced by Fred Maher, who worked on his early-’90s solo albums. Lloyd will likely be previewing some of those songs, and probably playing classics like “Perfect Skin,” “Are You Ready to Be Heartbroken” and “Speedboat,” at a few East Coast shows this month, including Philadelphia on Friday (3/22) and NYC’s City Winery on Saturday (3/23).
