tours announced: Yaeji, GABI/Julianna Barwick, Warm Drag, more

The following new tours were announced. Check the Tour Dates category every day for more.

YAEJI (including WARM UP with GANG GANG DANCE, LIZZO and more)

Genre-defying producer/singer Yaeji recently announced more tour dates supporting her two great 2017 EPs, including a headlining NYC show on 11/9 at Knockdown Center. She since revealed that she’ll play NYC much sooner, as she was added to the final Warm Up at MoMA PS1 (9/1) with Gang Gang Dance, Discwoman, Lizzo, AceMo, and Logan Takahashi of Teengirl Fantasy (tickets). Gang Gang Dance also open for Interpol at House of Vans. All Yaeji dates here.

YOUNG NUDY / SAHBABII

Fast-rising rappers Young Nudy and SahBabii are going on tour together this fall, including a NYC show on 11/28 at Irving Plaza and stops in Florida, Atlanta, Boston, DC, and more. Young Nudy also has a show at NJ’s Starland Ballroom on 9/8, opening for Comethazine. All dates here.

GABI (with JULIANNA BARWICK, then with MUTUAL BENEFIT)

Ambient pop artist GABI is releasing her new album Empty Me on October 5 via Double Double Whammy. It was co-produced by Eric Littman (who also co-produced Julie Byrne’s Not Even Happiness), and it features two members of Julie Byrne’s live band, Marilu Donovan and Jacob Falby. GABI is playing a release show at Brooklyn’s Park Church Co-Op on 10/3 with very strong support from likeminded artists Julianna Barwick and Foxes In Fiction, and then she’s opening Mutual Benefit’s tour, including the 12/8 show at that same Brookyn venue. All dates with MB here. Julianna Barwick is also opening part of Angel Olsen’s solo tour.

THE SUFFERS (OPENING FOR THIEVERY CORPORATION & MORE)

Houston, TX’s The Suffers pull from classic soul and just released new album, Everything Here. The eight-piece band have some TX shows and dates in the South this summer, and will head out on a full North American tour starting in early November, including dates opening for Thievery Corporation and a headlining show at Brooklyn’s Rough Trade. All dates and tickets are here.

CHANCE THE RAPPER

Chance the Rapper has just a few upcoming shows, including the next Spotify “RapCaviar Live” show in NYC with Sheck Wes and Tierra Whack.

MADAME GANDHI

Drummer, producer and activist Madame Gandhi released a new song, “Top Knot Turn Up”, in July, and she told Vogue that she’s preparing to release her debut full length album in the fall. While she hasn’t shared more details of the album yet, she has announced a few tour dates, including a 9/13 show at Brooklyn’s National Sawdust (tickets). See all of her upcoming dates here.

WARM DRAG

Warm Drag is the duo of Paul Quattrone, who is currently one of Oh Sees’ two drummers, and former K Holes/Golden Triangle vocalist Vashti Windish. Paul creates noise and beats via samplers and guitars, while Vashti wails/coos over top. Together they’re a cinematic, freak-beat, kraut-rockin’ psych-out that refuses to be pigeonholed. Their debut album is out August 31 and will be touring in September, including stops in Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Detroit and Chicago. Head here for all dates.

LOW

Indie vets Low, whose forthcoming Double Negative is one of our most anticipated albums of the fall, have expanded their upcoming tour…which now kicks off with three nights at Brooklyn’s National Sawdust.
