Trace Mountains

Trace Mountains (LVL UP, Sheer Mag) releasing LP, touring (stream a track)

LVL UP‘s David Benton has been releasing music as Trace Mountains for a few years now, and now he’s set to release the project’s first proper album, A Partner To Lean On, on March 30 via his own Figure 2 RC label. We’re premiering a new song from the record, the breezy “Salty Sweet,” which features Benton’s LVL UP bandmate Nick Corbo on bass and Sheer Mag guitarist Kyle Seely on drums. It’s a catchy, lighthearted song, and it reprises the “Cindy” character also referenced in LVL UP’s “Soft Power” and “I Feel Extra-Natural.” You can hear the new track, along with previous singles “Cary’s Dreams” and Turn Twice,” below. A Partner To Lean On also features contributions from Susannah Cutler (Yours Are The Only Ears), Jim Hill (Slight, Painted Zeros), and Ben Smith.

Trace Mountains will be touring several East Coast cities this spring, which includes a record release show at NYC’s Alphaville on March 30. Operator Music Band and Spirit Was will serve as openers. Tickets for that show are on sale now. All dates are listed below.
